No parent wants to hear that their child has diabetes. But when you learn that it is manageable you carry on. That doesn't mean letting them go to camp was an easy decision. But once we visited with the staff at Camp Discovery we knew our girl was going to be supervised and look after by counselors who understood the challenges of living with diabetes. A Stake Mini-Youth Conference will be held Friday, March 4 to Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Heber Valley Girl’s Camp. All youth ages 14-18 (by March 5th, 2016) who live in the Oquirrh Lake Stake boundaries are invited to attend. The theme is “Press Forward” which is attributed to our 2016 Worldwide Youth Theme “Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life” (2 Nephi 31:20). Full Day 36Camp: Spring Break Programming & Technology Camp - NextGen Tech Learning
Full Day Camp - 9:00AM to 5:00PM This is a full day camp and will include following three sessions: 1. Introduction to Programming, Web Programming & JavaScript : 9:00am-12:00pm 2. 3D Printing and Digital Designing : 1:00pm-4:00m 3. Game Design using Minecraft Redstone : 4:00pm -5pm In the morning session, students will learn to make web pages and will make a mini website. They will learn programming fundamentals while learning JavaScript. Students will apply their JavaScript skills on the website. Students can take their website home on the last day of the camp. After lunch, they will dive into the world of 3D printing and get to know why everyone is so excited about 3D printing & endless possibilities it offers. They will learn how to design objects in 3 Dimensions. In Digital Design, students will learn how to create graphics for web use or printing. Campers will interact and explore their creative ideas, as Dawn Sommerfield from DeMarcos School Of Music will teach basic songwriting. Campers will analyze popular music and use those songwriting formulas to compose lyrics and music in a fun group setting.
