Scratch is a tile-based visual programming language developed by MIT that helps teach the logic and problem solving that drive computer programming. Jr. Robotics Engineer - Goleta Presbyterian Church
Entry-level robotics and programming. Campers learn robotics using LEGO® Education WeDo™. Our young creators build snapping alligators, race cars, talking birds, and spinning robots, attach sensors and motors, and then program their creations with the WeDo visual drag-and-drop programming software. Counselors guide and encourage exploration and trial and error field-testing. Instead of simply "snapping bricks together," campers are encouraged to think critically about how their robot design can be changed and to understand more complicated engineering techniques such as gear use, pulleys, and inclined planes. Campers will also complete a small LEGO® project that they will be able to take home. 805-570-1988

COME LEARN CHESS - Whether your child has ever touched a chess piece or can defeat all challengers, Harding Academy Chess Club welcomes you to a semester of chess instruction and supervised chess play by Mid-South Chess. This 7 week class will take students through the entire film making process, including screenwriting, story-boarding (pre-production planning), camera and sound work, and final editing (post-production). Students will work together as a production team to create a short film together. Students will also take home a DVD of the final product to view at home! All equipment provided.
