Students will learn how to create images of themselves while making self-portraits. They will practice close observation with mirrors as well as correct use of proportion, shading, and tone. Projects include realistic self-portraits in which students will attempt to achieve likeness and ab- stract portraits inspired by modern artists. My son met lots of new friends at this camp
My 10 year old son can’t wait to sign up for this camp again next year. He is an active boy who loves to try new things. He learned how to canoe, hike and shot archery. He also enjoyed played sports with campers who also like physical activity. He still keep in touch with many of his camp friends, and they all plan to sign up for the same week to be reunited again.

Albany Gems Summer Youth Dance Camp - Albany, OR
The Gems are hosting their 2nd Annual Summer Dance Camp on July 16-17th, 2016. This is a two day camp for 1st - 8th grade dancers of all abilty and skill levels. All classes will be held in the main facility at the Albany Boys and Girls Club. Both days will run from 8:00am - 3:00pm. This give LOTS of time for parents to get some stuff done while we entertain your kiddos! Classes will be split up by level and experience so that everyone is in a class they are comfortable with. Classes will be divided into Mini, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Class descriptions will be posted later in the comments. Dancers will stretch and warm up together, learn a entire camp dance, learn level appropriate dance routines, practice technical skills that apply to all dancers, and dancers will be given snack and lunch breaks both days. At the end of the second day (3:00pm) there will be a family and friends show so that your dancers can show you what they've been working on. We have INCREDIBLE instructors coming from ALL over the State of Oregon to give your kiddos the BEST experience possible! ...

Camp Houston Levee (CITs) - Houston Levee Park
Is your child too old for camp but still likes to have a little fun? Camp Houston Levee is seeking Counselors-In-Training for this years summer camp. Requirements include: * Must be at least 14 years old and a rising freshman in high school * Participate in the interview process * Be able to assist for 7 of the 8 weeks of summer camp AND * Complete the CIT Orientation Session In return, we will provide: * A summer of fun activities * Opportunities to take on leadership roles, and * An engaging, learning experience The fee of $115 covers a percentage of the cost for staff shirts, field trips and Friday lunches. We will be accepting up to 16 applications but only 8-10 participants will be chosen to participate as a CIT. This decision will be determined on a first come-first-serve basis during the interview process. Applications will be accepted starting April 1st and close once all positions have been filled. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate with them to their interview. Whether you are a novice or an intermediate rider, grab your mountain bike and get tuned up for some riding adventures! Riders will learn tips for riding single track, trail etiquette, and riding smart. We will ride mainly at La Tierra where there is plenty of single-track and a great flow track full of whoop-de-doos and yehaws! If we get some really hot days, we will reward ourselves by heading to the Santa Fe River or Bicentennial pool to cool off before riding back to Fort Marcy. BIKE AND HELMET REQUIRED! 505-699-6230
Secret Agent - Polygon Mission Grade 3 (Monday) - Janney Elementary School
American University student teachers are looking for enthusiastic third graders who like challenges, mysteries, and problem solving missions. As part of an American University research project, School of Education professors have partnered with Janney Elementary School to test enduring understanding in reading as well as in mathematics in third grade students. During the sessions, third grade students will participate alongside our friends Poly and Gon in enriching activities and games in which they will be challenged to think outside the box by practicing problem solving and pattern identification skills. All lessons, activities, and games will be created and directed by American University student teachers for Janney third graders.
