CHILDREN OF VOLUNTEERS RATE Spin, glide, wiggle and swizzle! Each morning, take a bus from Balboa Campus to the San Diego Ice Skating Rink for a half-hour lesson and two hours of free skating time. Kuna Youth Running Camp 2016 - Kuna, ID
This camp was a blast last year and this year will be even better! I will be using it as my senior project this year. It is June 27-29th from 6-9pm at Kuna High School track. "I love that 100% of the camp fee will go to the Kuna Cross Country Team!" -Nancy Simper "I loved it! we had so much fun! It was sad when it was done! Can you please sign me up for it again?" -Ella Richards (camper) "My children absolutely loved the running camp. They learned great skills and got a good workout, but they definitely had fun doing it!" -Emily Richards Campers can expect a whole lot of fun at this camp as they participate in exciting running games, obstacle courses, relays and endurance building activities. These activities are all meant to challenge and instill confidence in our young athletes. Campers of all abilities are encouraged to join. No experience is necessary. Teen Camp - Escondido, CA
Projected registration opening date: April 5, 2017 Teen Camp is open to all teens with or without previous experience with mindfulness, meditation, or camping. This is a special time for all teenagers–please come and join! During this retreat, we will come together as brothers and sisters to develop skills that help us learn to be alive in the present moment and to connect deeply with ourselves and others. When we learn to be mindful, a whole new world appears. Activities will include walking meditation, eating in mindfulness, participating in periods of noble silence, sitting meditation, dharma presentations, sharing in groups, Deep Relaxation Meditation, joyful service, games, and hiking. Other activities we may include are morning exercise, drinking tea meditation, and a performance night. We will stay in large tents (around 5 teens per tent). Teen girls will be assigned to a tent in Clarity Hamlet Oak Grove and teen boys to a tent in the Solidity Hamlet Campground. There will be monastic and lay staff members staying in both campgrounds. The monastery will provide tents, but we ask everyone to bring their own sleeping bags and sleeping mats. Participants are expected to attend the entire retreat and all activities.
