Kallpachay makes it easy and joyful for kids to learn Spanish in a camp or class setting with their peers. Our themes are designed to draw out our campers natural curiosity and desire to try new things. Native counselors engage campers in fun activities such as dance, yoga, sports, cooking, crafts, singing, cheers, silly games and more. Our games are perfect opportunities for campers to practice using the new words they are learning. It is the counselors playful and encouraging nature that makes it a joyful experience for all our campers. Our camp settings are bright and spacious with plenty of outdoor space for supervised breaks and outdoor games and sports. Our Jr. S.T.E.A.M. Team members (ages 3-5), our S.T.E.A.M. Team members (ages 6-9), and our Counselors-in-Training (ages 10-13) will join forces to solve mysteries, visit the Louvre, take on the Big Apple, and visit the Texas Zoo. Families can register their campers for just one adventure or they can take on the full S.T.E.A.M. Team challenge by signing up for all 4 camps, giving them the title of Jr. CDM Ambassador (ages 3-9) or CDM Ambassador (ages 10-13). Opti Race (Session 1 AM) - NESS
Prerequisite: Opti Green Fleet/instructor recommendation Students will work on more advanced boat handling techniques, including roll tacks and jibes, and will be introduced to more racing tactics, strategies and techniques. Sailors will learn what it takes to progress to the next level of Opti racing and will be expected to compete in local Opti regattas where Red, White and Blue fleets are formed by age. Having your own racing level Opti is an advantage at this stage and students are encouraged to bring their own boats. All students will be under the supervision of our race coach in class and at specific local regattas. Last summer we supported and coached our sailors in 7 local day-long Opti regattas and expect to support about the same number of events this year. Regatta fees are not included. 860-535-9362
DISCOVERY - SAFE SITTER (Session 3) - Notre Dame Academy
Participants in this course will learn the "basics" of child care. Topics will include engaging in age-appropriate activities, safety and security, handling emergency situations and how to manage those hard-earned dollars! Basic child care skills will include diapering, feeding and maintaining a safe environment. Students will learn how to properly administer CPR in a life-threatening emergency, such as choking.
