He also enjoyed played sports with campers who also like physical activity. Join the women of Orangewood for a retreat away from the busyness of life to connect with and learn from each other! Express yourself! with Nelli Shevelkina Become an artist for a week in our art studios – dive into extreme sketching, painting, collage and sculpting. Work with different art media and learn how to create some art materials from scratch. Enhance drawing and painting skills by working on projects from observation. Discover and discuss masterworks. Experiment with many media choices and ideas from your imaginations. Projects include portraits, figures, sketching architecture and landscape outdoors, creating mini murals, collage, and 3-D multi media fabrications. Note: Includes a field trip to the Yale Art Gallery to view artwork and learn about several art media and techniques. Fun with Metal with Connie Pfeiffer Make jewelry and mini-sculpture with copper sheet metal and wire to wear or hang. Stamp, fold, hammer, bend, cut, twist and even heat metal to create pendants, medallions and forms from nature such as pea pods and leaves. Students will explore using basic hand tools, especially hammers, mallets, cutters, files, pliers and torches (one-on-one with instructor) to create works in metal. Integrated Geometry/Algebra - Ensworth High School
The merging of Algebra 2 and Geometry begins in this course with the continued development of functions and their context within the real number system. Using geometric modeling, this course covers roughly 2/3 of the traditional Geometry course and 1/3 of the traditional Algebra 2 course. Students use the graphing calculator and The Geometers Sketchpad software. Lego Simple Machines - Morgan Park Academy
In this hands-on class, campers will use the LEGO system to create simple machines. They will learn about levers, pulleys, axels, wheels, and gears through activates designed to challenge the young engineer. Through the knowledge gained, campers will design and create mechanisms including a catapult, crane, car and other interesting machines. Come join the fun where everything is awesome! 773-881-6700
