Lil Lambs camp is a great opportunity for Pre-K through Kindergarten kids to experience Camp of the Good Shepherd for the first time. Age-appropriate Bible lessons, songs, games, and crafts are just a few of the things that children will enjoy on their first visit to camp. Parents are welcome to stay for the day or may chose to drop their child off with our fantastic camp staff. Junior Red Ball Tennis Camp 5-6 yrs - Tennis Courts
Fun tennis specific activities to develop balance, agility, ball tracking and hand/eye coordination. Kids will practice sending & receiving the ball and serving overhead on small courts, with balls that bounce slower and lower, just for them! Please bring appropriate size racquet: 19"-21". The Camp will be Directed by our Head Girls Basketball Coach Bobbi Mock. Coach Mock brings 19 years of coaching experience to this camp and is excited about helping your child develop better basketball skills. This revamped camp has extended hours to ensure development of proper form and fundamentals, including shooting form, footwork, timing the shot, lay¬ups, jump shots, etc. Time will also be devoted to game situations and scrimmages. Emphasis will be placed on the skills needed for basketball success! Coaches from around GA will be guest speakers at camp, including Toby Wagoner from GSU and Fala Blalock from Armstrong, among others. Camp will utilize three SCDS gyms (Demere, Saunders, Old Gym). Welcome to the first week of Camp Kensington where we will be exploring the best of Europe! Where will we stop along the way? England for a beautiful cream tea (scones made by the campers) a royal visit, a game of cricket, badger baddies and the science of gravity (thanks Isaac Newton). We are psyched to bring our dual passions for getting into nature and documenting our adventures to Mountain Kids! Campers will spend the first day learning what it takes to makes a compelling video, composition and audio recording. Campers will then learn how to prepare and pack for a backpacking trip, the 6 Ws of preparing for any outdoor trip, map reading and leave no trace principles. We will spend time writing and creating stories on a two night backpacking trip. During the second week, campers will share their time between the recording studio, the computer lab and getting outside to create a 2-3 minute video of their adventures. On Thursday evening we will celebrate with a screening of their work. Equipment Needed: • Backpacking pack, sleeping pad, a sleeping bag, and a mess kit (bowl, fork, spoon, cup). Some campers will need a tent to share. • A small camera or phone to capture stills and video • A small notebook and a pencil (There is an additional $25 materials fee in addition to camp tuition) 505-699-6230
