In this podcasting class, well examine the art of radio storytelling, beginning with the Golden Age of radio dramas in the 30s, 40s, and 50s, all the way up to the radio journalism of today with programs like This American Life, 99% Invisible, and RadioLab. Summer Camp - Cloverdale, OR
All Pack Event. Enjoy the wonderful Oregon Coast while working on your rank advancement and our Summertime Pack Award. Exact timing is TBD, but the dates are reserved. I have reserved 30 scout and 10 adults slots. We have time to adjust, but the sooner we get this nailed down the better. I will have a sign up sheet for the next Pack/Den Meeting next Thursday for all those interested in going. There is a fee for this $243/Scout and $115/Adult. We do get a free adult admission for every 6 Scouts that go. At the next Committee Meeting we will discuss how we want to ration that out, either by need, or reduce everyone's cost equally, etc.

Fall Teen Adventure Weekend - West Branch, MI
Canoe trip on the Au Sable River with overnight lodging at YMCA Camp Timbers. Co-ed, ages 13-17. Join YMCA Camp Timbers staff for a TEEN ADVENTURE WEEKEND canoeing the Au Sable River! The weekend begins with a Friday night stay at Camp Timbers before launching on the Au Sable River Saturday morning. After spending Saturday canoeing the river, participants return to Camp Timbers in the evening to enjoy S’mores around a campfire. The weekend ends with debriefing, unpacking, and a sampling of adventure activities at camp on Sunday. Cost is $75 for Y members and $90 for non-members and includes: meals, lodging, use of canoeing gear, transportation between Camp Timbers and the Au Sable River, and programming. Middle School Survivor Camp - Mount Shepherd Retreat Center
Survivor Camp is a challenging adventure camp that will develop outdoor living skills — specifically, build a raft to use on the pond, go mountain climbing at Pilot Mountain, learn knots and rope crafts and cooking over a fire. From Monday night to Thursday night survivor campers spend each night outside. Campers learn the leave no trace philosophy. Survivor campers will go through high adventure courses, swim and canoe and have nightly de-briefing times and devotions. 336-629-4085

Description: Learn to identify birds by sight and sound, and find out how to make your backyard into a wildlife sanctuary. Get to know other junior bird enthusiasts while hiking, playing games, and doing crafts during a week that is truly ?for the birds?. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bird Bonanza is a three-day half-day mini-camp at Blue Jay Point County Park for children ages 6-8. All participants should wear play clothes, closed-toe shoes (like sneakers or day hikers) and bring weather appropriate outerwear to each camp session. Prepare for each camp day by bringing a filled water bottle, a simple snack and applying your favorite sunscreen and bug spray. Students will learn how to play basic drum, guitar, bass and piano riffs to various lyric-appropriate (parent-approved) rock/pop songs of their choice. Classes will include ear training, learning to read music notation, instrumental techniques, viewing music video clips for inspiration, and more! No experience necessary, but welcomed! Instruments will be provided to share, but bring any that you have from home. Time will be allotted each day for a snack and water break. A short performance will take place on Friday at the end of class from 11:40-Noon where students will have the opportunity to sing and/or play different instruments for the songs we have been developing throughout the week. 20% sibling discount.
