This camp gives students the chance to develop socially and musically. My 10 year old daughter loves the fact she can be out in nature, feels safe and can learn about music with like-minded children. The Honcho Summer Campout - Proctor, WV
An idea that has been burning in our brains for a few years will finally spill into the steep, hilly forests of West Virginia this August. Save the date, we'll be taking over the insane Roseland Resort for a weekend bonanza of pool parties, camp fires, club ragers and weirdo sunrise woodland excursions together. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR NOW: - Roseland has a 20 year tradition of being a clothing optional, men-only resort. We must respect the rules of the space and adhere to this for the 2015 edition. We will work towards a larger idea in the future. - We have held ALL of the cabins and best tent camp sites on the resort property in a discounted Honcho block. You will get 10% off all lodging. DO NOT BOOK by yourself without a Honcho Campout ticket because that would be silly and you'll end up somewhere stupid, paying more. - In order to get access to these sites and rates, you will purchase a Honcho Campout ticket for $15. 3rd - 5th grade girls and boys: Creative Writing - Saint Marys School
Do you get writers cramp each time you are asked to put your thoughts on paper? If so, writing camp is just the ticket for you! During our time together we will explore the options for brainstorming and will work together to create some fantastic written materials. Students will learn tips to become better writers--whether developing a poem, fictional story, or essay. Patty Soemer holds a Masters degree in education from Liberty University and has taught various subjects to a variety of ages for the past 21 years. She has a passion to make learning fun and is especially drawn to the areas of language composition and math. 9194244028.0
Week 4 AM - Taste of Optis - NESS
Its never too early to get on the water! The Taste of Optis class is designed for kids aged 6-11 and does not require sailing experience. Meant to be a fun group experience, it enables kids to get a taste of sailing in one week of instruction. Students will become familiar with water safety on the docks and in an optimist trainer, while learning what it feels like to be on the water. Over the week the students will be introduced to the different parts of the boat, knots, rigging and steering. One step at a time this is an important one to take in a nurturing environment with friendly and patient instructors. 860-535-9362

Youth Learn to Row Camp - Water Sports Center
Learn to row this summer! Participants learn proper rowing technique, whole body conditioning and water safety while making new friends and enjoying a new and fun activity. Youth who particpate during the summer get a head start on team rowing if they choose to row during the school year. All camps are two weeks and there is no limit to the number of sessions a participant can sign up for. Eligibility - anyone who has never rowed prior to summer 2016, ages 13-18 and entering 8th - 12th grade in fall 2016. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LOCR is open to student athletes, ages 13-18 (8th-12th grade), regardless of experience. Practice is daily after school, Monday through Friday, 3:45-6:15p, and Saturday mornings 7:30-10:00a. LOCR offers a Fall racing season, Winter training season, Spring racing season, plus options row during the summer months. Rowers new to the sport are considered Novice and after their first year advance to Varsity. Through a partnership with the local high schools, Varsity athletes have an opportunity to letter just as they would in a sport offered through their school.
