Get your hands dirty and create something beautiful. Discover how to throw on the wheel making useful forms including mugs, bowls, plates, and vases then decorate the forms with a variety of colorful slips and glazes. Learn in a small group environment where you will have access to your own wheel to use throughout the week. Campers will take home finished work at the end of the week 919-677-7839

This course is taught by veteran Head-Royce Math Teacher Chris Davies A U.C. Certified equivalent of academic year Algebra II taught in an intensive six-week format. Top-performing Head-Royce students may use the course to accelerate into Pre-calculus pending departmental approval. Other purposes for taking this course include reviewing and previewing Algebra II as needed. (As with all summer for-credit courses, students may choose to audit this course or proceed on a for-credit basis.) Textbooks will be loaned to the students, but students must provide their own graphing calculator (Head-Royce uses the TI84 or TI83). Prerequisite: Algebra 1 and Geometry, minimum C grade.
