Teen Fitness Camp - Fleming Island, FL
Register for our Fall Teen Fitness Camp for October. Open to all teens, between the ages of 14-18 years old. It’s all about fitness, coordination, strength, nutrition, confidence and—most of all—fun! Parents must register teen and complete participation forms and waivers in person. Program runs from October 3 - December 16. No sessions will be held Thanksgiving week, November 21-25. Architectural Adventures - Middle School
Architectural Adventures combines science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts in a uniquely fun and challenging way valuable for young people to enjoy, that allows hands-on learning experiences. Children will be inspired by building upon their natural curiosity to learn about different aspects of modern architecture. For example, a ‘green engineering unit allows students to create, test, and refine architectural designs involving the use of alternative energy and environmental awareness. Students will learn how to build efficient wind powered machines and discover how these machines can help reduce fuel consumption. Throughout the week, students will apply basic engineering design concepts to create, test, and refine a variety of machines and mechanical systems, including cars, planes, and cranes. Students will also learn the basics of fluid dynamics while constructing roller coasters and other vehicles, culminating in the construction of an incredibly fast air powered dragster that students get to keep at the end of the course. Students will also compete in groups to build the highest structure! Rock instruments, vocals, songwriting, recordings, and CD design! An action-packed week for boys and girls. No previous experience necessary. Great for campers with Beginning Guitar experience! Campers will bring their own guitar or bass or we provide keyboard or drums. Led by Arts Center faculty in a friendly atmosphere where campers play in a band, learn and write songs, and perform in an All Camp Jam Concert on the final day at 3pm. Is your child struggling to learn how to print? Are they reluctant to complete written work? Whether your child is struggling or not, learning to print is a very complex skill. This class will provide all of the foundational skills necessary to be able to learn to print effectively and efficiently all while having FUN! Kristen Freed, Licensed Occupational Therapist will assess your students use of a writing tool and then provide a multitude of activities to improve their grasp, general stability, tactile discrimination, visual-motor coordination, and visual-perception skills for more successful writing tool use. 316-771-2289

Vendor: Tiny Chefs Chopped! Never have food challenge reality shows been so popular and Chopped! is a favorite here at Tiny and Gourmet Chefs! We like it so much we decided to base a whole week long camp on the concept. Our version has the added twist of focusing on different cuisines every day of camp. So, each day the Tiny and Gourmet Chef campers will be presented with a basket with 3 or 4 ingredients, which reflect these different cuisines—French, Italian, Mexican, Asian and All-American. Using those ingredients and working within those cuisines, they will challenge themselves to make mouthwatering specialties, traditional favorites and explore new ingredients, tastes and combinations. *9 child minimum, 20 maximum (703) 340-7268

Summer Youth Art Camp: Grade 1 Summer art camp is the perfect retreat for the young artist. A faculty of professional artists and art educators provide hands-on activities that expose students to a variety of artistic styles and art processes. Campers rotate by age group to different studio classes for drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. Daily enrichment activities may include entertainment, movement/dance, presentations and games that explore different cultures and forms of art. Parents are asked to provide a daily lunch, snacks and beverage for their children. A reception and art exhibition is held on the last Friday of camp. Family and friends are invited to attend. *Register your child for the grade they will enter in Fall 2016.
