Fine tune your observational drawing skills, paint to your hearts desire using oil paints, learn brush and other tools techniques, discover the power of color and how color works together, create sculptures using different materials and form, experiment by combining different mediums and approaches to create your own unique art. Summer Track Club (5-10): 9:00-11:00 - The Hockaday School
Speed: Runners, on your mark… Go! Sprint your way into new running technique that will improve speed. Join the Track Club to learn speed drills and footwork fundamentals with track equipment. This camp will teach kids to enjoy competition. Our campers will participate in games and kid-friendly contests of some of the drills. Distance: Pace yourself from start to finish. Children will remain lifelong runners with the right shoes and the right distance. Running longer and farther is one of the best ways to keep our campers active. Come form happy hearts and lungs with us by building endurance, stamina, and strength. Jumping: Blast off to test your flying skills! Get off the ground with long jumps, high jumps, triple long jump, and much more. Learn simple techniques that will make a huge difference in jumping performance from the runway into the sand pit. Throwing: You have the power! Test your Strength. Throwing is a fun way to improve upper and lower body strength. Campers will learn about fun throwing events, such as shotput, discus, hammer, and javelin. You will make accurate throws with good technique and form. 214-360-6586
Baseball Class - BASEBALL CAMP - Adams Park
Put me in coach...Im ready to play! This camp will focus on baseball fundamentals and techniques from hitting, fielding and throwing to pitching, base running and more. Campers will participate in daily drills, scrimmages, stations and contests to develop big league skills. Camp will be conducted rain or shine. Parents will be provided with information on how to handle rain days on the first day of camp. Supplies: Campers should bring their own bat and glove, and a packed lunch with a beverage and plenty of water each day. All campers should arrive at camp with sunscreen already applied, as well as with additional sunscreen, as needed. We recommend campers use sunscreen with a SPF of at least 30. This class is for catchers ONLY! It?s about time someone spent the hour?s necessary working with catchers only. If you know a catcher that is an aggressive, tough, hardworking player, this is the class for her. We will cover stance, signals, framing, blocking, pick-offs, steals, plays at the plate, fielding bunts, foul tips and more.
