Our Aventureros will put on their backpacks, gather their passports and off they will go on their Summer Classroom Adventure! This is a perfect way for current HoLa and other bilingual students to support the Spanish they have acquired and a wonderful way for incoming HoLa students to ease into a fun, stress-free Spanish immersion experience. The program will be overseen by HoLa Aftercare Director Margarita Garcia and HoLa faculty. Children will engage in multicultural games, physical activities, crafts, art, music, dance and other local adventures that will be aligned to the introduction and strengthening of Spanish Language Arts, creative writing and mathematics skills. Young Scientist-Gayton Baptist - Gayton Baptist Church
The Young Scientists Camp was created in response to requests by parents to have a science camp for their younger children. All Young Scientist activities meet or exceed the National Science Standards. Fun and excitement is fostered by great lessons and hands-on experiments. This program is designed to meet the needs of children in grades 1-3. The Young Scientist Camp covers a broad range of fun and exciting science topics such as: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Lab Process Skills. 678-294-9504
Sports Camp week 6- Lacrosse - Orchard Park Recreation
During the first hour of lacrosse camp, children will focus on the fundamental skills necessary to excel in the sport of lacrosse including cradling, passing, shooting and defense. Agility and hand eye coordination will also be emphasized. During the second hour, children will be able to eat a healthy snack and then participate in a series of cooperative games that will enhance their capabilities of being a good teammate and showing good sportsmanship The third hour of lacrosse camp will focus on learning the rules of the game (rules for boys and girls will be explained separately) and playing modified games of lacrosse. As the skills of each child advances over the course of the week, the third hour will consist of more realistic game like situations. Equipment will be provided. New This Year! For children entering 3rd or 4th grade: Each day, students will attend six periods with a fifteen-minute recess and snack after third period. They will attend four intellectually stimulating and fun-filled classes including: Brain Booster, Adventures in Art, Science Shakedown, and Fun and Fitness. For the remaining two periods, children may choose between On Stage, a performing arts class which spans two periods, or a Keyboarding and Wild About Writing option.
