Coach Ball & Coach Frates, Calvertons Lacrosse Coaches will share their years of experience with all. Open to beginners, intermediate and experienced players, this camp features three divisions: Youth, Middle School and High School ages. When placing campers, age and physical development will be considered so every player can have a positive experience. Campers will learn individual skills, such as shooting, passing, dodging, and defense, as well as team concepts such as fast breaks, defensive schemes and offensive schemes. The Calverton School has been the breeding group of more than 40 college lacrosse players over the last few years. Inventive minds will be able to build Odometers (to measure the distance a robot has traveled), Lifting Jacks (to hold & raise heavy loads), and not to mention the inspiration for the HELICOPTER. Skyhawks Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of this great team sport and puts it together into one fun-filled camp. All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on passing, setting, hitting and serving. This co-ed program is designed for the beginning and intermediate player. Our volleyball staff will assist each athlete in developing fundamental skills through game-speed drills, daily scrimmages aimed at developing the whole player. Please wear appropriate clothing and bring two snacks, knee pads, and water bottle. All participants receive a t-shirt,volleyball and player evaluation. The NDP tennis camp will introduce the sport to newcomers, and provide further instruction to those who are experienced and want to compete at the high school level. The main goal of this camp is to help players improve their skills while learning tennis etiquette and good sportsmanship. The drills and exercises taught by current NDP coaches and players are both fun and useful for tennis and other sports. What to wear/bring: Athletic attire, tennis shoes and socks, tennis racquet, towel and water bottle. (Rain day June 17). Please note our new cancellation policy.
