In Extreme Robotics, students have extreme fun while exploring the world of technology. Using all sorts of household items, including electrical motors and gadgets, they get to build their own robots. Using applied science and engineering, students learn to solve problems while exploring various scientific principles, from biomechanics to hydraulics to magnetism and chemistry. Finally, the student made robots are put to the ultimate test in fun competitions, with prizes being awarded for the most innovative and best functioning inventions, robots, and designs. Have your child join us for a super duper fun week, and youll be amazed by what your budding little scientist has learned along the way, just by using a little imagination and some basic scientific knowledge. The first two weeks of the CCYC Summer Camp will begin on June 20,2016 and end on July 1, 2016. This year there will be two separate camps with the second two week camp starting on July 18 and conclude on July 29 2016. Applications for the first session must be returned by June 15 to be accepted into the first session. Ages this year will range fron 7 to 12 yars of age. This class will give the vision and skills to get students to begin the creative process of using something as simple as leftover cardboard into something artistic and maybe even practical. In two days - 4 hours per day - students will get hands on instruction and come out with a completed project like the one below. Lot's of fun. Visual artist and film maker David Wilson in collaboration with Actors Point Theatre Company will conduct this amazing class. Limited space available. Great River Advanced Camp - Great River Golf Club
The Advanced Camp offers serious game improvement for the serious junior golfer with a handicap of 15 or lower. The camp concentrate on instruction which will take a campers game to the next level, with the emphasis on mental conditioning, course management, and the short game. By utilizing tournament-like conditions, campers are taught and tested on those skills identified as being mandatory to successfully compete at even the highest competitive junior golf levels. SKATEBOARD CAMP WITH AMBUSH BOARD CO. - Swift-Cantrell Park
Learn the basics of skateboarding from the experts at Ambush Board Co. Be introduced to skateboarding with others of similar skills, age, and experience level - from getting started, safety, and park etiquette to ollies, flip-tricks, and grinds. Discover skateboarding culture, learn new tricks, and become part of the skateboard community. Supplies: Campers should bring plenty of water and a snack each day. Campers should bring their skateboard, helmet, knee and elbow pads if they have them. Equipment will be available for those who need to borrow it. All campers should arrive at camp with sunscreen already applied, as well as with additional sunscreen, as needed. We recommend a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
