This is a session that helps campers transition into being a CIT. In preparation for becoming role models for the younger generations of campers, participants in the CIT camp will undergo a training schedule that mimics the staff training period prior to summer camp. Step Into the Story - Session III - Neverland - Ohlook Performing Arts Center
Great childrens books serve as launching pads for dramatic adventures. So jump into some of the most awesome stories ever told to become the characters, then act out your favorite parts. Reimagine tales through movement, music, and art creation. Session III focuses on Neverland and the adventures of Peter Pan. Tiger Lily and the Lost Boys of Neverland need to outsmart Captain Hook to escape his clutches. Students will create costumes, sing a song, and spin their best stories to finish their adventure. Mountain Biking Camp - Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission
Trying to find something new and challenging for your child this summer? This week long Mountain biking camp will offer kids a great opportunity to explore the great outdoors and challenge themselves while learning fun, new cycling skills that they can use for years to come. We will explore great trails in and around the eastern panhandle, where the kids will learn how to climb, descend, and maneuver on rough and technical terrain. This sport is not only physical but fun too. Campers will need to provide an appropriate bike*, helmet, and wear appropriate clothes and footwear. Campers will also need to bring a bag lunch and plenty of water. On Friday, June 17th, there will be a bike check from 5-7pm at the Jefferson County Community Center for those enrolled in camp to make sure their bike and equipment are safe for camp. Children will take Jefferson County School buses to a different location each day during the week. Locations will include, Poorhouse Farm, Cacapon State Park, Greenbrier State Park and FLOC.
