A Safe and Fun Place
Nowadays you're always cautious when it comes to placing your kids in the care of other adults. Thankfully there is Bishop Stoney Camp. One visit was all it took to put my mind at ease. I knew letting our boys go there for soccer camp was a good call. The counselors took good care of them making sure they didn't get into trouble and stayed focus on having wholesome fun. You choose, and only pay for what you register for! 7 Convenient Locations: : Boonsboro, Hancock, Marty Snook Park-Hagerstown, Maugansville, and Williamsport Our day camps are an exciting, safe, and affordable option for summer fun. Our Summer Camps are a place for young people to get outside, get unplugged, and back to the best things in life—friendships, fresh air, discovery, accomplishments, and self-confidence. Washington County Recreation Department Summer Youth Day Camp Program emphasizes respect for others, fun, safety, responsibility, interaction and participation. Wk 3 • Pet Habitats for the Discerning Animal: Design Thinking - Kala Gallery and Classroom
If youve ever wanted to design a play jungle for hamsters, a four-story luxury dog house, or the coolest cat castle the world has ever seen, this class is for you! In this workshop, well use Design Thinking to research, invent, and prototype new solutions for happier pets. Come prepared to create, think about animals, and build a pet utopia! Instructor Bio: Rei Jackler is an Oakland arts educator, design teacher, writer, and maker nerd. She holds a Masters in Teaching from Stanford University, where she also trained in Design Thinking at the D.School. In Oakland, she is currently Makerspace Manager for the La Escuelita Elementary School Makerspace, and has also taught design with Chapter 510. Rei loves making of all kinds: knitting multi-colored scarves, writing fantastical short stories, and baking with a lot of chocolate. Jump into a comic book with this fun filled camp that will turn our students into superheroes or super villains. Exciting acting games and super acting activities will lead to an epic performance in front of family and friends. INSTRUCTOR JOHN WALDRON received his BFA in theatre from Virginia Commonwealth University. As an actor, director, and instructor, he has been working in the region for over 20 years. He has directed shows at Aldersgate and MVCCT. John can be seen in the motion picture Talk To Me starring Don Cheadle and was featured on Investigative Discovery show Who The Bleep!. Join a fashion trend that is earning lots of attention these days. (Think Macklemore!) Youll look at thrift shop fashions and your own old favorites in new ways as you deconstruct and reconstruct them into entirely new looks. Your fashion designer/teacher will help you figure out how to chop them up and sew them back together in new and trending ways. If you want even more of a personal look, then stitching and painting are possibilities. Were thinking sweaters, jackets, and jeans but you can add bags, shoes, or scarves.
