Session 1: Aug 8-12 * 7th-9th Grades - Icicle Creek Center for the Arts
7th-9th Grade film campers in are in for a fun and exciting hands-on introduction to the media arts in a beautiful natural setting. Start the week filming around the natural beauty of the Icicle Creek Campus, followed by two days of editing and post production. From concept to final cut, young filmmakers will experience each step of the creative process and experiment with new technologies. Campers will learn how to conduct a meaningful interview, handle a camera, set up a shot, record audio, and even shoot aerials from a drone. And once the footage is all gathered, of course, it all has to be organized and edited. By the end of the week, campers will have planned, shot and edited their own movie and well cap it all off with a family screening complete with popcorn! Middle School Math explores Pre-algebra and problem-solving designed to develop understanding of concepts and skills in preparation for the study of algebra. This course meets for 1-hour per day and is combined with Middle School English for a 2-hour program. Middle School English focuses on the careful reading of quality literary texts. This course will help improve reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and written composition. Beginner Golf class. This class is a perfect introduction to golf for players learning the game. We instruct proper stance and swing mechanics with iron clubs. Summer Prospect Camp - U-M Soccer Complex
The Prospect Camp is designed for those wishing to learn more about playing at the collegiate level. This camp will provide the serious soccer player with the understanding of what it will take for success at the collegiate level. Coaching staff is made up of current University of Michigan Soccer staff and are assisted by current members of the team. A number of other local/regional/national college coaches will also assist as a coach or will be in attendance to watch and evaluate talent. As part of this camp we also offer a presentation from Coach Daley and the Admissions Department here at The University of Michigan. This presentation will undoubtedly provide useful and resourceful information on the college admissions process, the daily lifestyle of a student-athlete and college financial aid. 734-647-1201
