Clarinet Camps - Clarinet Camp - MacPhail Center for Music - Minneapolis
Designed for high school students, Clarinet Camp covers topics from clarinet assembly and reed care to history and repertoire. Students will be placed in small ensembles to play clarinet-only repertoire which will be featured in a final performance at the end of the week for family and friends. During small ensemble rehearsals and classes, well discuss clarinet specific topics including: how the reeds/mouthpieces/ligatures we choose affect our performance, various styles of clarinet playing, the acoustics and history of the instrument and emergency repair. In addition students will work on general musicianship skills including critical listening and effective strategies for auditions and performances. SKILLS Clarinet INSTRUCTOR Nina Olsen

This program is for children ages 6 to 12 and runs Mon through Fri from 8am to 5pm. Camp locations: Wigwam Creek Middle School & LP Rec. Center. This camp includes arts/crafts, sports, games, daily swimming & movies. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack will be provided. Discounts are available for families enrolling multiple children. The first week of camp which you register for, the FULL camp payment is due at the time of registration. All other weeks which you register, a $20.00 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a space in that week of camp. The remaining camp fee is due 7 days prior to the start date of week in which you are registered. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Price shown is for one child only. One of the hottest new trends, 3D printing is perfect for prototyping, CAD development skills, and is just plain fun! 3D printers work by following a computers digital instructions to print an object using materials such as plastic, ceramics and metal. The printing process involves building up an object one layer at a time until its complete. This is an interactive camp designed to teach campers how to optimize designs and create a three-dimensional object of almost any shape from a 3D model. Campers will learn about CAD (computer assisted design), modeling and prototyping, the history of 3D printing, and how businesses and entrepreneurs are using 3D printers for everyday applications.
