This camp is aimed at the more experienced player looking to improve on his/her skills. This camp will be instructed by Traips Varsity boys coach Jeremy Paul, and varsity girls coach Scott Blake. Those who attend will enjoy learning the fundamentals of shooting, ball handling, rebounding, passing, defense, and team play. In addition you will have some fun and challenging competitions, a basketball camp t-shirt, a continuing basketball workout schedule for when the camp is over, and excitement. Please bring a lunch each day. The price of this camp is $130 for the first child and $200 for a family, and includes a T-shirt. This camp takes place at the Kittery Community Center. Only open to students who are currently enrolled in Fall 2015 session The Africans in Diaspora Club will expose students to a variety of cultures while also looking at the many ways that Africa and its people have influenced the broader world. Students will have the opportunity to read, and critically discuss, Margy Burns Knights book, Africa Is Not A Country, with the intent of dismantling stereotypes and developing an appreciation for Africas diverse people, histories, colors, languages and foods. Additionally, students will be actively engaged in the process of learning, playing, dancing, eating and organizing. Monday - Friday, 9am - 4pm Pick-up begins: 8:45am Drop-off ends: 4:15pm Girls will design and build furniture projects for the Womens Daytime Drop-In Center, a local safe haven which offers free services to homeless women and their children. Along the way, girls will learn skills in woodworking, welding, fabrication, and masonry to design a meaningful project for their community, to work in multiple materials, and bring ideas to life. Please note: Week 1 and 2 will offer the same content. Please enroll in only one. Snacks will be provided. Full lunch option is available at an additional $25 cost. Enrollment is limited to 20 girls.
