Rutgers Media Art Intensive Natalie Bookchin, artistic director Grace Jackson, assistant director Brian Edgerton, instructor July 25 – August 5, 2016 (weekdays only) Ages 14 to 18 | commuter only Rutgers 2016 Media Art Intensive Website: / The Rutgers Media Art Intensive introduces students to the world of media art – a synthesis of artistic experimentation, technology, and the visual arts. Students create original works of art, working with sound, video, and/or media installation. Instruction covers techniques for shooting video, studio lighting, recording sound, 2-d animation, green screen compositing, and the basics of video and sound editing. Students utilize the computer labs, hardware and sound studio facilities of the Mason Gross School of the Arts media area. The intensive will culminate in a public showcase of student artwork produced in class. Sing! - Palace Education and Performance Center
Working with well known movie and Broadway songs, children will learn the fundamentals of singing. Each class will explore warming up and vocal technique with age appropriate tunes and vocal games. Children will also learn musical theatre performance techniques which will culminate in numbers performed for family and friends at the end of the year performance. Songs will be chosen from the classic Disney songbook through newer Broadway favorites. Past performance pieces have included such favorites as "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman" from Frozen, "Evrybody Wants to Be a Cat" from Disneys The Artistocats and "Choose Me" from The Castaways. Skills learned: fundamentals of vocal technique and placement, breath support, vowel formation, diction, "acting the song" Spring focus-solo performance technique, character voice 512-869-7469 x3
Gymnastics Camp, Ages 7-13 - Community House
Girls will have the opportunity to learn gymnastics including rhythmic gymnastics with hoops and ribbons, tumbling on the mats and have the opportunity to learn routines on the balance beam, the single and uneven parallel bars and the vault. Lorrie Rousseau is LPRDs Gymnastic Instructor during the school year and now Lorrie brings her talent and over 25 years of dance and gymnastic experience to our summer camps. This is an excellent opportunity for dancers and cheerleaders to get in shape and learn beginner through intermediate gymnastic level activities. Space is limited! After the physical games, well cool down with team-building games, favorite board games, mystery games and more. The "Boys of Summer" Competition Camp - Roadrunner Baseball Field
Check In & Late Registration: 2:00-3:00 PM at Roadrunner Field, Camp Hours 3-9 PM Limit: 60 Purpose: 1) Evaluation Section run by qualified staff. Evaluation will include: Height, Weight, 40 yard dash, arm strength & bat speed tested on radar gun, agility & quickness. Scores will be given to each individual at the end of camp. 2) Divide campers into teams and play games at the UTSA Baseball & Softball fields. We will provide a game experience. Teams will be coached by a UTSA staff member or player. 3) Teaching and Drill Work included 4) Parents are welcome to stay and watch the games or get some errands run and come back for pick-up.
