During the first hour of lacrosse camp, children will focus on the fundamental skills necessary to excel in the sport of lacrosse including cradling, passing, shooting and defense. Agility and hand eye coordination will also be emphasized. During the second hour, children will be able to eat a healthy snack and then participate in a series of cooperative games that will enhance their capabilities of being a good teammate and showing good sportsmanship The third hour of lacrosse camp will focus on learning the rules of the game (rules for boys and girls will be explained separately) and playing modified games of lacrosse. As the skills of each child advances over the course of the week, the third hour will consist of more realistic game like situations. Equipment will be provided. New This Year! Bio: I have been at Young Scholars of Central Pennsylvania since its inception in August of 2005. Teaching is my passion. It is exciting to see students learn and grow academically and gain social skills. I have enjoyed teaching 5th and 4th grade as a lead classroom teacher over the years. I have also taught Physical Education, Turkish and Character Education for both elementary and middle school students. Intro: In Turkish Conversation Club, we will use a variety of games and activities to promote Turkish language skills.
