Up-Cycled Art - Bridget Mayak & Cheryl Capezzuti - Touchstone Center for Crafts
Explore innovative ways to incorporate common household materials, found objects, and recyclables into fantastic art! We will focus on the processes as well as the products of creating both two- and three-dimensional pieces of art. Part of everyday will be spent making puppets out of recycled materials and producing a short performance at the end of the week. This promises to be a very busy and creative week! Gymnastics - Beginner Gymnastics Camp - Jefferson County Community Center
In this camp, gymnasts will learn the proper fundamentals of gymnastics. Our fun filled lesson plans will keep the campers interested and excited about learning the basics of gymnastics. Gymnasts will work on skills using the beam, bars and springboard. Gymnasts will learn forward and backward rolls, bridges, handstands and cartwheels. This introduction to basic gymnastics is both fun and rewarding. Parents please provide snacks for your child, as we will be breaking daily for a snack. Fee $145M/$150R/$160NR M-F 9am-2pm Camp will emphasize drills and skills that cover offensive strategies and defensive plays in game situations. The morning spent on drills and fundamentals, and the afternoon applying these to "GAME ON" scrimmage situations. Pat Watson brings experience, fun and a winning formula for success. The camp includes instruction and t-shirt. Participants should bring water bottle and sack lunch. Campers may arrive at 8:00 am for pre-camp shoot around. Our Camp program is extremely comprehensive covering: compulsory and optional skills, basics, dance, strength, and flexibility. Our camps are designed for all gymnasts, from beginner to elite. Our day camp can accommodate all gymnasts over the age of 6. Our student to coach ratio of 8 to 1, ensures that your child will have a great experience with some of the best club and collegiate coaches from around the country. Campers train in the renovated Ford Center Gym. We have added a 50ft Tumble Track, in ground tramp and a new loose foam bar pit. Summer Youth Art Camp: Grade 1 Summer art camp is the perfect retreat for the young artist. A faculty of professional artists and art educators provide hands-on activities that expose students to a variety of artistic styles and art processes. Campers rotate by age group to different studio classes for drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. Daily enrichment activities may include entertainment, movement/dance, presentations and games that explore different cultures and forms of art. Parents are asked to provide a daily lunch, snacks and beverage for their children. A reception and art exhibition is held on the last Friday of camp.
