This Girl Scout Camp is nestled in nature’s paradise between meadows, woodlands and a beach area. My 11 year old daughter loves to participate in archery, swimming, kayaking, crafts, boating and hiking. She has developed a love for nature along with improved social skills. Week 8: Day Camp Assistant Training (Leadership Development) - Camp Tanadoona
Day Camp Assistant (DCA) Training is the first step in Tanadoonas leadership development program. DCAs spend the first half of the week engaging in teambuilding workshops and interactive leadership training with lead camp staff. Training includes first aid, behavior management, specialty programming and basic counselor skills. DCAs immediately apply their training when they are partnered with Tanadoona Counselors to assist with Day Camp groups during the second half of the week. Staying overnight on Thursday to help with the Thursday Overnight campers provides additional experiential learning. We recommend a minimum of two years of DCA before progressing to CIT. 612-235-7284
FR 4:30P-5:30P Adventures in Art History All Ages Pam Miles - Beach Art Center
April 22,29,May 6,13 & 20 We have explored Cave Painting, Egyptian Tomb Painting, Vase Paintings from Crete, Greek Columns combined with self portraits as Roman Senators, Byzantine Mosaics and Romanesque Book Art. This winter we will be finishing up Romanesque Book Art and starting Gothic Stained Glass Windows. The students will be designing a stained glass window using paint and focusing on their favorite person, place or thing as the subject. From there we will be doing an up-to-date portrait of Mona Lisa using the body images of current internet and pop culture stars along with an au courant landscape in watercolors. The year will probably culminate in an Impressionist still life based on the work of Vincent Van Gogh. There will be a slide review before each session to update the new-comers! 7275964331.0

Instructor: Red Cross Especially for young people 11-15 years old, this course give participants the knowledge, skills, and confidence to care for infants though school-aged children. Topics include safety issues, preventing injuries and illnesses, basic child care, first aid, rescue breathing, care for choking, and age-appropriate behavior and play. Must be 11 before class starts. Please bring a sack lunch, because this class will meet all day. 316-771-2289
Composing for Video Games - MacPhail Center for Music - Minneapolis
Take your creativity to the next level and learn to compose music that enhances your video gaming experience. Even if youve never tried composing before you can learn to manipulate sounds to make the action on your screen come alive. Students will use Propellerheads Reason/Record software in our portable music technology lab to compose music for existing video games as well as create music for their own game concepts and scenes. Any student currently enrolled in band, orchestra or choir is welcome to join this camp, even if you havent had any composing experience. Family and friends are invited to attend a multi-media performance on the last day of camp. Register for either the morning or the afternoon session the week of June 27-July 1. Identify and investigate animals of Yellowstone! Observe and compare predator and prey relationships in a safe and FUN environment. Participate in the Keeper Kids program at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center and spend a night in West Yellowstone! Price includes Thursdays overnight and all fees. 406-582-0526
