Art Adventures for Kids: Session VI - Farmhouse
This one week half day program is full of colorful summer fun! Kids will create art projects each day with a summer theme. Through projects that include body motion, story-time, and music, campers will create unique pieces of art that connect to science, history, and math. They will work with paper mache, clay, paint and other fun materials. They will also learn fun summer songs and play improv acting games. Students should bring a snack and water bottle and dress in comfortable clothes that they dont mind getting dirty! Week will end with a special showcase/art show for family and friends. CLASS OBJECTIVES & GOALS: Childrens natural acting ability comes to life as they learn basic acting skills, stage direction, group interaction and the importance of individual scene work as well as the power of an ensemble. Through listening, observing, improvisational exercises, vocalizing, and other theatre games, beginners take the stage, which in turn enhances their confidence and self-esteem. Intermediate and more advances students move on to more detailed scene work, acting technique and character development as they hone skills that will serve them well both on and off the stage. Java, Flipped! An Online Programming Course - NuMinds [Online Course]
How Does it Work? Each Friday of the course (see dates below) a new module is sent to students with a self-paced lesson and weekly challenge. Then, on the following Monday, in a "live chat" from 6 - 7 pm, the teacher will answer questions, provide feedback on that weeks challenge, and guide students through the joys of Java programming. Each module will contain multiple labs comprised of problems and a longer app at the end. Each individual lab will introduce a new concept / programming construct. Thats a few hours of available content per week! This hands-on, lab-based approach to learning programming reflects how programmers really learn--by doing, and at their own pace. What Technology Do I Need? Just a computer!
