Amazing Experience!
I sent my two kids (9 and 13) to Alton Jones for the first time last summer, they absolutely loved it. My 9 year old did Earth Camp, he loved tree-climbing and kayaking the most! My 13 year old did Teen X Adventure and also loved climbing (she did rock climbing!) and the water park.
I was concerned about the cabins, since most camps have a busy basic set up, but these were great, I wish I had cabins like this when I was a kid!

Rock hounds unite! Piece together actions and stories of the past while you unearth and inspect cool rocks, identify mineral specimens, and search for fossils in one of the most geologically rich places on earth! Voted Kids favorite for 21 years! 406-582-0526
KHK: Cowboy Overnight Camp - SD Discovery Center
Qualified staff, experienced horses and a rodeo and roping arena will be the setting for this camp. The atmosphere will encourage campers to advance their riding skills, expand their horsemanship knowledge and enjoy riding. All campers will get to try their hand at rodeo and roping events. Instruction will be provided and all level of riders will be accommodated. Math and science concepts will be integrated into all skill development for campers. Everyone will ride and learn horse and ranch routines. This is an overnight camp. Chuck wagon/Campfire cooking will occur, (weather permitting). Bring a sleeping bag, overnight bag, long pants, sturdy shoes or boots, sunscreen and a jacket. Riding Helmets will be provided. Instructor: Roger Finch This course is for students who want to weld steel that is 1/8 inch thick and up. At their own workstation, the students will learn M.I.G. Welding, Torch Brazing and Plasma cutting. These skills can be used to create anything from Garden Art to building a utility trailer. Each class will include theory, demonstration, and individual hands-on instruction. All basic supplies, including the Welders Manual by Roger Finch and the Victor Welding Guide are included in the materials fee and supplied on Class #1. Learn about forensics. They will spend of week being spies and Crime Scene investigators. Through various tools they will be able to break numerous cases that will be presented throughout the week. They will analyze trace evidence left at the crime scenes in camp. The crimes will include numerous mysterious disappearances. They will spend a week utilizing the science of forensics, chromatography, chemistry, DNA, profiling and fingerprint analysis to unravel these mysteries. They will investigate the crime scene by analyzing trace evidence with a microscope, cast footprint impressions, photograph the crime scenes and design various spy tools to be able to help in the investigation. They will make a periscope, and various forensic Tools that they will use in training to be the very best spy.
