Lego We-Do Robotics - The Surge Community Center
Education WeDo™ Robotics For campers who love to build and then take their models to the next level. New from Lego Education and Renaissance. Our future engineers work on Lego robotics kits. Each builder has his or her own kit! Interactive building and programming models is the newest educational frontier for kids that love building. Kids build a series of models such as an alligator, lion, helicopter, soccer player and more. Builders work together to build and program their model to move and make sounds. LEGO We-Do Robot Construction The LEGO® Education WeDo introduces young students to robotics when combined with the LEGO Education WeDo Software v.1.2 and various Activity Packs. Students will be able to build LEGO models featuring working motors and sensors; program their models; and explore a series of cross-curricular, theme-based activities while developing their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as well as language, literacy, and social studies. The students will build any of the over 50 models and contains more than 300 elements including a motor, tilt sensor, motion sensor, and LEGO USB Hub. Exploring Precious Metal Clay with Christopher Beaver - Ah Haa School for the Arts
Times vary: Friday 6-8pm, Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 10am-4pm. This class will explore the very basics of metal clay with the incredibly humorous and tallented Christopher Beaver. No previous experience or skills necessary. Have you ever wanted to work with metal but have been scared off by the metal smithing process? Here is your chance to explore the world of precious metal clay – a fantastic clay material that is permeated with microscopic elements of pure metals. The clay is formed and placed in a kiln and – viola! – you pull out a pure piece of solid silver. Required for this this class is a great sense of humor, a willingness to learn, the ability to laugh at your own mistakes and letting your teacher drop the "f bomb" on occasion (it happens). All-Star Sports Session 4 - The Philadelphia School
Coach C and Obvious Choice Sports return to TPS for a dynamic summer of athletic fun! Campers will learn and improve their skills under the guidance of a talented and experienced coaching staff in a variety of sports, including soccer, basketball, hockey, and dodgeball. Each day will be filled with practice drills, relay races, and game play designed to help campers learn fundamentals, improve their motor skills, and build confidence.
