In this interdisciplinary class, students will look at and analyze the work of Edgar Degas. Students will experiment with similar postures, movements and phrases in relation to Degas work. This is a great opportunity for students to re-interpret the artwork through movement. No dance experience required. Students should wear comfortable clothing and socks. Safety Camp - Blue Heron Elementary School
Lino Lakes Public Safety Department, Centennial Lakes Police Department, Centennial Fire District, Lexington Fire Department, and Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department present the Annual Safety Camp! Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of serious injury and/or death of children. This camp is taught by those who respond to those types of incidents each day in an effort to reduce the numbers of injuries that occur each year. The camp includes sessions on bike safety, fire safety, 911 procedure, water safety, personal safety, electrical safety, outdoor safety and first aid - all in an informative and fun atmosphere. The knowledge campers learn will allow them to make the right decisions when faced with unsafe conditions. Safety Camp is intended for children entering 4th grade the fall of 2016. Pre-registration is required and limited to the first 150 participants Priority will be given to residents residing in Lino Lakes, Circle Pines, Lexington, and Centerville until June 17. CLASS OBJECTIVES & GOALS: Childrens natural acting ability comes to life as they learn basic acting skills, stage direction, group interaction and the importance of individual scene work as well as the power of an ensemble. Through listening, observing, improvisational exercises, vocalizing, and other theatre games, beginners take the stage, which in turn enhances their confidence and self-esteem. Intermediate and more advances students move on to more detailed scene work, acting technique and character development as they hone skills that will serve them well both on and off the stage.
