What Is the Difference between Day and Overnight Summer Camp?
An overnight program is commonly called sleep-away camp. Youth go away for a period of time and sleep in cabins or tents with their camp counselors and other campers. Overnight camps are structured to offer kids a variety of activities and to increase kids’ independence, self-esteem and social skills. Many overnight programs include field trips, treks or community service opportunities in addition to traditional activities like swimming and arts and crafts. Final Summer 2016 Kid's Riding Camp - Georgetown, TX
Sign up now for our last riding camp of the summer for children ages 3 - 18. Camps are half days, and kids learn about safety first, equipment, horses and riding in our soft-sand enclosed and covered round pen and enclosed outdoor arena. Kid's are outside getting exercise in the sunshine and fresh air, learning a new skill, having fun, and gaining in self-confidence. What could be better? All classes taught by Eric Clarke, horseman and natural horsemanship clinician with 35+years experience as a professional horse and people trainer, assisted by several of his horsemanship apprentices. Class size is limited. All equpment and horses provided, except for boots (with a bit of a heel please; no sneakers) and helmets (no bicycle helmets). Siblings may share helmets as needed. Participants will improve on basic skills and knowledge of the game. The concepts of cooperation and teamwork, along with a chance to have fun, will be the main goals of the week. Are we in Mexico? You would think you were with all the fun Mexican crafts, games, sports and music. Create your own mask, pinata, sombrero, maracas and much more. All in Spanish! Vamos Amigos! Bring your bathing suit each day for water fun! On Wednesday, Campers walk to the Bethesda pool adjacent to the park. Campers must pass a swimming test or stay in the shallow end. The Home and School Association is proud of LEP, a program for managing afterschool enrichment at Lafayette. The HSA will not directly operate any specific afterschool offerings, but will oversee and centralize the process of registration, attendance and program conformance to all DCPS mandates for using school facilities.
