She graduated from Appalachian State University in 2010 and received her Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Practical Theology at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. She now serves as the Mission Immersion Director for Raleigh Youth Mission, and through her ministry with youth she works to name creative gifts and profound truths in their lives, most often through music, art, prayer and laughter. What is a Presbytery Youth Retreat? -A time for middle school youth (grades 6-8) from across our Presbytery to gather for the experience of Christian fellowship. -An opportunity to play, study, worship, sing and serve in a beautiful setting with their peers. -An opportunity for youth to see the Church of Jesus Christ beyond the local congregation and take that experience home. -A chance for the First Presbyterian youth group to grow closer through a shared experience. Join us at Anders Ruff Workshop in Pineville for our Teen/Tween CAMP (Ages 10+). Create a preppy and charming 15″x20″ customized canvas and wood wall hanging! In this workshop, you will start with bare canvas and leave with a customized canvas wall hanging flanked with wood stretchers in any color combination you choose. Choose from our line of home decor paints in the class. Pick from a monogram silhouette design choice above. This is a drop off workshop for teens and tweens. Two Thumbs Up! - Ethical Culture
Watch great movies and learn about critiquing films. Develop a sense for recognizing the thematic (the directors goal of the film), dramatic (storytelling elements) and stylistic aspects (genre) of a movie. Besides having fun at the movies and eating popcorn each week with your friends, you can share your insights and newly found skills of thoughtfully critiquing a film. Well usually take two after school sessions to watch one movie. Each Monday well watch half of a film and follow with a brief discussion, which includes identifying key characteristics and sharing what we thought worked well or not.
