We are pleased to announce an upcoming Youth Weightlifting Camp, hosted by two USAW Certified Coach’s. This is a great opportunity for local kids during their winter break, plus it is for all levels. The online sign up, for this 2 day clinic, is attached below. We will also have t-shirts, tank tops, or a hat for each registered attendee. Strength training for kids should consist of skills, coordination, stability, movement, agility, kinesthetic awareness, flexibility and balance. This should include big muscle groups that utilize body weight movements and free weights with light, manageable loads. Things like Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics and plyometric movements. If these exercises and movement patterns are taught at a young age, the athlete will have a greater advantage in technique as they progress in age and strength. Our Youth Weightlifting Camp is December 28-29th from 9am til 11am both days, for ages 7-17, and again for all levels.

Thanks to John "Jack" Wachlarowicz (SCV-MDHA Board of Directors & MN DNR Hunter Education Instructor) and his professional instructors and the MN DNR, this is a weeks opportunity of a lifetime for any kid!!! Not only do kids get tremendous instruction with Archery but we try to instill a greater sense of the outdoors and taking advantage of our nations parks! Featured Fieldtrip: Science Museum, St. Paul - featuring the National Parks Omni Movie attraction, Thursday, July 21. FYI - The actual day camp runs from 9am-4pm though kids are welcome to get dropped off as early as 7am and picked up as late as 6pm. There is so much activity between these hours! Week 2 Day Camper - Rose Lake Youth Camp
Our always popular Day Camp is a favorite for many children ages 4-13. This session runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Wednesday through Friday. The cost includes breakfast, lunch and a snack. This is a great introduction to camp life and activities and focuses on the all-time favorite camp activities of swimming, archery, hiking, songs, kayaking, gaga pit, bouldering wall, crafts, and games. Depending on the age and abilities of our youngest day campers, some activities may be adjusted or modified to be age appropriate. Day Camp has an optional Thursday overnight, allowing children to get a taste of resident camp. The Thursday Overnight includes dinner and an evening snack. Children will enjoy campfires and special events and games not offered during the normal Day Camp day. If you would like your child to participate, please indicate this option on the camp registration and there is no additional fee for the Thursday Overnight program. The minimum age for the overnight is 7 years of age. In addition, for an additional $15 families who need extended Day Camp care can sign children up for this option which runs 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Extended care includes breakfast. 231 768 4351
