Have you ever wanted to be a Civil War soldier? Are you between 8-12 years old? Mansfield State Historic Site is hosting an “immersive” event that will allow you to experience what many of the soldiers of the American Civil War did. Its a week of water-filled fun! Plan to get wet (and muddy) as we explore our bit of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Well compare fresh and saltwater habitats through hands-on experiences like sampling for water-dwelling animals and performing simple water tests. Field trips will take us to see where our water comes from, how water is treated after we use it, and on a visit to the Chesapeake Bay. Well also spend time boating and fishing as we learn all about water, the plants and animals that live there, and how to better care for our watershed.
