Teen Camps- Handbuilding with Clay! - Artworks Texas Studio
This special camp is designed for teens who want to get their hands into clay for 3 hours each day! Teens who have already participated in an Artworks Texas pottery class or workshop are welcome to attend this camp. Students who already have experience with clay will be involved in more advanced projects. Handbuilding is the oldest form of working with clay. Ancient techniques were used to create tools for everyday living, long before the invention of the pottery wheel. Students will explore many aspects of creating with clay off the wheel. Techniques such as coil, pinch pots & slabs will be used in combination to create work during the week. At the end of camp, all projects will be fired & ready for pickup in 2-3 weeks. Please bring to camp: Large box for fired clay pieces (write name on box), old shirt to wear during camp Each day: Drink & snack to enjoy during 15 minute break About our Summer Camp! Campers will experience 3 hours of creative opportunities each day. Money Matters Camp teaches campers the importance of budgeting, saving, and practical spending using fun and engaging finance games. Campers will also participate in a week long business project where students will be responsible for creating their own Ice Cream Shop business model. Money Matters Camp is a fun and interesting way for children to learn financial responsibility. Please bring a light snack, or a lunch if your child is enrolled in camps all day. A $15 material fee will be collected on the first day of camp. Grades 3-6 (Day Camp) Check-in will be Monday morning from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM in the Bernice Hansen Athletic Center (it will not begin before 8:00 AM). Please look for postings to help make this time easier and more convenient for all. Parents, we will register your child as quickly as possible so that you are able to get to work on time. Each day we will have fundamental and team practice in the morning. League play will begin at approximately 2:00PM and generally will end around 3:30PM at which time you may leave for home. (*Note: These times may change depending on the number of campers in attendance). More information about game times will be posted in the arena on the first day of camp after the teams have been selected. This camp experience is a 3 week block meant to give high school students that have completed their freshman and sophomore year an opportunity to lead at camp. They will have the opportunity to work with the camp staff, as well as be part of the summer camp program in helping to lead in several different capacities. Alongside program leadership, grounds/dining hall service, and cabin assistance, LITs will have the chance to grow in faith as well, with specific bible studies geared towards their lives. 662-234-3350

Lachey Arts is proud to work in conjunction with Mariemont Schools to bring music theater to our elementary students. During the 10 week class, students will work on singing, dancing and acting skills. Parents will be invited to the final class to watch the performance. This class is open to students in kindergarten-3rd grade at Terrace Park Elementary.
