LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Future Robot Creator - United Faith Christian Academy
Entry-level robotics and programming. Campers get a head start on simple robotics using LEGO® Education WeDo™ components and easy to use software. Our young creators will build models, attach sensors and motors, and configure behaviors using a simple programming tool. Counselors guide and encourage exploration and trial and error field-testing. Instead of simply snapping bricks together, campers are encouraged to think critically about how their robot design can be changed and to understand more complicated engineering techniques such as gear use, pulleys, and inclined planes. Robot models include a variety of animals, soccer players, amazing mechanisms, and adventure stories. When ready, campers move to advanced building and programming projects that include: a Racecar, Ferris wheel, and Carousel. As the week draws to a close, campers can utilize the skills they have learned to build an X-wing fighter or Marine helicopter. Parents are invited to join us on Fridays Family Day to view their childs creations. Campers will also complete a small LEGO® project that they will be able to take home. 7047743016.0

This summer camp is for teens 13 - 17, who want to learn how to create a production ready short script. Students will be paired in groups of two and will work collaboratively in creating a shootable three to five page script. Students who participate in TheFilmSchool Camp will receive guaranteed admission into the SIFF Teen Production Camp (separate registration and fee through SIFF Education). Scripts from the TheFilmSchool Camp will be chosen for production in the SIFF Teen Production Camp and will be shot at Seattle Center. Date: August 15 - August 19. ECEA Youth Camping Trip - Killeen, TX
The youth have voted for their year-end field trip to be at Parrie Haynes Ranch for some camping and trail riding! If you are a current ECEA youth member, your campsite and day fees are paid for by youth club money raised at our youth fundraiser show. Please let me know if you are planning to attend, if you need RV hookups, how many horses you are bringing and how many people you are bringing so that I can make reservations next week. We will have orgainized group dinners and group breakfast. Bring your own drinks, lunches and snacks. It's going to be a blast!

A week filled with friends and fun. Uncle Chad will come and share with us again at Vespers time. Campers will enjoy their favorite activities and discover new things to do at camp. Being a teen brings some new opportunities and privileges. Dangerous Camp for Boys - Both Weeks - Dangerous Camp at The Heights School
All boys need adventure in their life. This camp is for designed to foster a love of life and adventure outside of the trappings of video games and technology. The DC4B offers a generous sampling of activities and lessons that familiarizes the campers with games, hobbies, and skills that every boy should know and love. The camp is much more idea-specific than the usual boys summer camp. With its conglomerate of themes, this camp is directed with a specific vision towards the healthy, all-around growth of boys body and mind, through healthy, active leisure. The camp will be divided into four ‘companies, allowing the boys to take part in a friendly competition that culminates on the final day of camp. Sample activities may include calligraphy, sports, field trips, short stories, yo-yos, harmonicas, knot tying, bouldering, historic battles, juggling, paper airplanes, fire-building, slingshots, lawn games, creeking, and more! Farm Hands Sibling Week (AM Session) - Weir River Farm
The Farm Hands program is a great camp experience for kids that love to be outside working in the garden or learning how to care for our farm animals. Activities can vary from day to day because we work with the rhythm of the working farm. The sibling week was created a number of years back in response to feedback from parents that wanted their multi-aged children to attend together. You dont need to have a sibling or even a friend to register for sibling week, just be excited for making new friends of all ages. One of the most popular aspects of sibling week is that children are offered more choices of what activities to choose each day so they can create their own camp experience. Audition-Only College Level Teen Acting Intensive with Special Guest Instructors - Arts Effect Downtown
** PLEASE NOTE: You must audition and be accepted into this class BEFORE you register. This college-level acting workshop lead by Katie Cappiello and Meg McInerney along with Tisch School of The Arts faculty guests will focus on intense scene study and character development. Students will be challenged by advanced sense memory, improvisation, and text analysis exercises as they prepare scenes to be presented at the end of the workshop. Students will be assigned and emailed a scene prior to the workshop. This 5-day master class will require students to not only work in class on their pieces but also independently with scene partners outside of class – as they would in any theater arts college program.
