Awakening is a Catholic retreat put on by young adults for young adults. This overnight retreat runs from Friday night through Sunday afternoon ending with Sunday Mass. The retreat is designed to awaken your faith, bring you fellowship, and to strengthen your relationship with God during your young adult life. We accept retreaters of any faith/belief in and out of college from ages 18-26. Even though this is a Catholic retreat, you do NOT have to be Catholic to attend. Youth Ski Trip: for our 7th-12th grade students from Friday February 26th to Sunday February 28th we will be at Camp Calumet in West Ossipee, New Hampshire for a wonderful and blessed weekend of skiing and being in fellowship with one another. Make sure to sign up and get your forms located on the Sunday School Bulletin Board. Make sure to come to the meeting on February 7th before church at 8:30am to fill out paperwork, go over the weekend and to make payments. Friends are welcome! Cost is $130.00 per person this year and if you are in need of rentals or lessons, it will be an additional $24.00 each. Please make sure to attend our Brunch Fundraiser on February 7th after church to raise funds for travel and for our chaperones.
Final Summer 2016 Kid's Riding Camp - Georgetown, TX
Sign up now for our last riding camp of the summer for children ages 3 - 18. Camps are half days, and kids learn about safety first, equipment, horses and riding in our soft-sand enclosed and covered round pen and enclosed outdoor arena. Kid's are outside getting exercise in the sunshine and fresh air, learning a new skill, having fun, and gaining in self-confidence. What could be better? All classes taught by Eric Clarke, horseman and natural horsemanship clinician with 35+years experience as a professional horse and people trainer, assisted by several of his horsemanship apprentices. Class size is limited. All equpment and horses provided, except for boots (with a bit of a heel please; no sneakers) and helmets (no bicycle helmets). Siblings may share helmets as needed. Camp is half-days, 9 AM - Noon. Cost is $150 for the three day camp; current EquQuest horsemanship program students are FREE! Call Pat Gleason at 512-965-1380 to register and click "Going" here. Civil War Life - Old Trail School
Explore the Civil War with author, historian and former Gettysburg National Park Ranger, Jeff Evans. Throughout the course of the week we will experience Civil War drill, clothing, equipment and even food. Campers receive their own Civil War enlistment and discharge papers and even muster for pay. The Battles of Antietam and Gettysburg will be used to examine the world of Civil War battle. The role of local units will be closely examined. Half Day Camp is open to children who are entering PreK (must be 4 years old) or Kindergarten in the 2015-2016 school year. Creative Chemist This is a week all about chemistry! In addition to our usual nature treks, each day we will also conduct a hands-on, kid-friendly chemistry experiment. Launch a mini-rocket using baking soda and vinegar, create ooey gooey slime, learn fire safety with endothermic and exothermic reactions, and much more! 415-876-3764
Week 4 Monte Vista Horsemanship Camp - Monte Vista Christian School
Monte Vista Horsemanship Camp provides an amazing opportunity for boys and girls to spend a week riding horses, making friends, and experiencing beautiful natural surroundings at the campus of Monte Vista Christian School. Located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains on the Monterey Bay, we offer structured riding lessons in the morning and afternoon for beginners through advanced riders looking to prepare for competition. Trail rides, mounted games and grooming lessons round out the campers Equestrian education for the week, and they will demonstrate their new skills for friends and family members at our Camp Horse Show on Saturday. Every afternoon, the campers have an opportunity to swim at the school pool and enjoy the hot tub before showering and then its off to dinner! Overnight campers stay in our comfortable cabins and will play games and eat smores around the nightly campfires. Our meals are provided by Epicurean Cafe and the food is fabulous! In this "Who Done It" adventure we will introduce chemistry and biology and physical evidence to solve the crime scenes. We will learn spy technicques as we use our spy scopes to look around corners and use microsopes to look below the surface. 770-455-1980
