Hello everyone, as members of the CFC Youth community, we kindly invite you to our joining camp. What is it you may ask? It is a 3 day, 2 night retreat for youth ages 12-21. The weekend is dedicated to creating a relationship with God, making new friends, and worshipping. We’ll learn about what it means to have God’s love in our lives, and truly how to forgive. The Summer Camp folks have asked us to return to defend our title at the On the Road Tour stop at High Noon Saloon in Madison! You know the deal: if we win, we get a spot at Summer Camp Music Festival 2016!!! We have had amazing experiences playing SCamp in the past, and we need YOUR HELP to do it again! It’s my new year!”–Spirit Quest Teen Camper Spirit Quest for Teens is for 13-17-year-olds, who are moving into young adulthood and who need a safe, nurturing place to reflect on where they have been, where they are going and who they are becoming. Camping together, teens develop deep connections to their selves, their peers, their elders and Nature through --council circles, --team-building games, --nature-awareness activities and hikes, --poetry and art --movement and improv --drumming and journeying --sharing in meal preparation --solo time in nature --fire ceremonies and sweat lodges --mediation and yoga Life-long friendships are formed or deepened; issues of self-esteem and soul work are explored with a true honoring of each teen’s unique path. Teens are invited to camp for the whole week, beginning on Sunday afternoon and ending Saturday at noon to allow for more time together. Primary Art Camp: Week I Afternoon Session - Challenge Alaska
Girdwood Fine Arts Camp was established in 1987, and provides a fast paced introduction to a variety of art media and professional artist styles. This registration is for the Primary A rt Camp (Ages 5-8) for the W eek I Camp held Monday - Friday from August 1-5 , 2016 in the AFTERNOON from 1pm - 3pm Y our child will work with guest artists and volunteers to explore different techniques and styles, while fully immers ing themselves in creativity. This camp provides a truly fun and dynamic experience that will spark creativity, engagement, exploration and individual expression. The program welcomes each young artist as a unique individual bursting with potential. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This camp is operated by Girdwood Art Institute, a local non-profit based in Girdwood, AK. River Walkers will explore the waterfalls, creek beds, and shaded pools of the Sand Creek to investigate how all of life needs and uses water. Campers will discover how the birds, mammals, bugs, and crawfish of Bluff Lake interact with its water sources through hands-on activities, animal encounters, and expert presentations. Campers will have the chance to measure, draw, observe, and play with water as they perform water quality testing, sail boats and build their own dams. Prepare to get wet, meet some aquatic creatures, and have a blast! All campers will learn from science experts, play learning games, make projects, meet new friends, cool off in Sand Creek and have supervised exploration time. Sewing camp is a wonderful opportunity to learn a new skill that will last a lifetime! In this sewing camp, your child will learn a variety of hand-machine-sewing skills. They will learn to comfortably use the sewing machine and practice basic sewing stitches. We will make projects such as pillows, iPod holders, tote bags, aprons, draw string bags, book covers, water bottle holders and more. As a final project, campers will learn the art of quilting. We will provide all the colorful, beautiful fabrics, and the materials. On Friday, the campers will prepare snacks and lunch as part of their camp experience.
