Camp is around the corner and we are excited about it! This year’s theme is “EXCHANGE.” We have felt God tug at our hearts and steer us in this direction with this theme in mind. When the Apostle Paul received his calling from God, he wrote “… for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ” (Philippians 3:8, NKJV). An exchange occurred in his life. He left behind knowledge, position, and commodities to live his life for Christ. Our goal for this year’s youth camp is for young people to understand that in every EXCHANGE, something must be given up in order for something to be gained; and our ultimate goal is to gain Christ.

Wrestling - Wrestling Camp - Goochland County Parks and Recreation
A camp designed to teach the basics of wrestling. Participants will learn the rules of wrestling as well as some of the fundamentals of wrestling. This is a great way for young boys and girls to decide if wrestling is a sport for them. All participants must have shorts a T shirt and sneakers to participate. Ages: Girls and Boys Entering Grades 7 - 9 Dates: June 27 – July 1 Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Format: One-week session designed around challenging activities Location: Laurels Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights Tuition: $360/session Cabinets of curiosity, also known as wonder rooms, were collections of extraordinary objects used to categorize the world and tell stories about its oddities. In this class, we will create a wonder room by investigating several of the many ways in which science and art intersect. By highlighting the overlap between art and science, we will gain a better understanding of each, as well as a new appreciation for how art can play a role in scientific processes and how science can inform and facilitate the creation of visual art. Teen Artist Work/Study - MacRostie Art Center
The MacRostie Art Center work/study program for teen artists increases accessibility to our educational programming for teens while providing opportunity to experience real-world visual art administration and will look great on any resume or college application. Teen artists may choose to focus on experience in exhibitions and curatorial work, art education, event planning, or any other aspect of what the MAC does for the art community. This opportunity is open to artists ages 15-18. For every 6 hours worked, students will receive a $60 voucher towards the tuition of any MacRostie art workshop to be used in the following year. Gymnastics Camp, Ages 7-13 - Community House
Girls will have the opportunity to learn gymnastics including rhythmic gymnastics with hoops and ribbons, tumbling on the mats and have the opportunity to learn routines on the balance beam, the single and uneven parallel bars and the vault. Lorrie Rousseau is LPRDs Gymnastic Instructor during the school year and now Lorrie brings her talent and over 25 years of dance and gymnastic experience to our summer camps. This is an excellent opportunity for dancers and cheerleaders to get in shape and learn beginner through intermediate gymnastic level activities. Space is limited!
