Life Teen December Retreat
Great News!!! Life Teen will have our annual December Retreat on Dec 18-20. This is an overnight off campus retreat at the Warren Willis Methodist Camp in Fruitland Park Florida. Myself, the Core, College Core, and Priest will be gearing up for a fantastic, funifilled, Jesus weekend Life Teen style!!! So parents encourage your teens to come to this life changing weekend. An overnight Permission slip is required and the cost is $90. This covers transportation, food, lodging, and camp facilities!! As a challenge to our teens if we get 200 teens on retreat Fr. Brian will shave his beard and I will shave my head. So pass this onto any parent or teen you know. Please pray for this weekend. 2nd Session - Harry Potter - YSCP
Bio: Carol Pharo, Harry Potter Drama Club instructor, first explored the adventures of Harry Potter with her drama students at the International School of Amsterdam. Other themes included The Sound of Music, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Hobbit (with original music). She has continued working with these favorites in Centre County where she has also directed all-children casts for the operas Amahl and the Night Visitors, LOrfeo, and a ballet version of Winnie the Pooh. Ms. Pharo has taught at the Arts Conservatory, the Joan Kennedy Dance Center, The Music Academy, and the Academy of the Performing Arts. The Harry Potter Drama Club, for grades 3-8, is a young actors training, drawing upon the adventures of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. This drama class will emphasize variety in vocal expressions and timing along with effective posture and gesture. There are parts for everyone, and favorite parts are continually switched, so that everyone has the opportunity to play the character of his/her dreams! Nightly sessions will cover the basics and also provide parents with activities and drills to do with their children which will allow them to play and enjoy the sport of tennis. Beach volleyball legend, Sinjin Smith, plus his qualified staff of local San Diego area coaches, are ready to pass down years of knowledge to you! Throughout the summer, Sinjin will drop by periodically to work with campers. The camp is structured so that all campers will receive proper instruction based upon their individual skill levels. This camp will cover all of the fundamentals, teach specialized drills and supervised games will be played. Everyone will receive a Beach Volleyball camp T-shirt. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Campers should apply sun screen prior to camp. Please bring water,some snacks and comfortable clothing to wear at camp. Beach volleyball camps will be using portable netting sytems located near snack shop. Room: B-7 Instructor: Sabine Kroeber Students learn typing skills using an online keyboarding program. Emphasis will be on teaching desirable keyboarding techniques, mastery of the keyboard and development of speed and accuracy. We will also practice how to apply keyboarding skills in real life situations: Typing and formatting in Word, creating word art in Wordle, and putting together a simple PowerPoint presentation. We will tour the keyboard and learn about lesser known keys like the tilde and carat on a keyboard treasure hunt! Returning students can continue to build their speed, while new students can lay the foundation for great typing success.
