Its never too early to get on the water! The Taste of Optis class is designed for kids aged 6-11 and does not require sailing experience. Meant to be a fun group experience, it enables kids to get a taste of sailing in one week of instruction. Students will become familiar with water safety on the docks and in an optimist trainer, while learning what it feels like to be on the water. Over the week the students will be introduced to the different parts of the boat, knots, rigging and steering. One step at a time this is an important one to take in a nurturing environment with friendly and patient instructors. 860-535-9362

My son started as a 6 year old and now he's going to be a 15 year old Leader in Training. For him, the freedom to be active in a beautiful country environment, play games, and swim was important (and he learned a lot about nature along the way). Ever wonder what mysteries lay beneath the waves? Discover the fascinating world of magnificent kelp forests, home to thousands of animals that rely upon the kelp for food, shelter, and survival. Come along and dive into this world with mask and snorkel to explore the diversity of life found within, and discover the many habitats in our Monterey Bay Sanctuary! Transportation available from Salinas and Carmel. Campers must be able to swim. 831-582-3681
Volleyball: Middle School Team Skills - Main Campus
The Harding Team Skills Volleyball Camp for 6th to 8th graders builds on the skills acquired during the June Individual Skills Camp (serving, passing, setting, attacking). Fast-paced team drills and games focused on enhancing court awareness, better understanding of game flow, anticipation, readiness, transitioning between offense and defense. Middle School girls continue developing team synergy, as well as achieving an advanced level of proficiency, utilizing three hitters, serving aggressively to get more aces, and converting serve-receive into a kill. Camp serves as a good jump-start in preparing for the Harding volleyball season (August-September). Daily team recognition. Camp ends with a tournament, which is always a blast. Join us for some serious, but always fun, volleyball. Find out what makes the Summit County forests tick as they cycle through their succession. Learn about the effects of mountain pine beetle, fire, and human impact on our local environments and take a zipline tour through some of Colorados beautiful woodlands. Explore the world of forest management through the eyes of a miner on a mine tour and as an FDRD volunteer. So, make like a tree and leaf on this exciting celebration.
