Have fun reading a required summer reading book in a group setting. With the use of a variety of reading strategies, the course covers the reading of Number the Stars Students are asked to purchase the novel prior to the first class. All students should read the first two chapters of the book they are assigned before June 20th. Additional reading at home will be required. BodyRite Training Teen Sport Camp - Jamesport, NY
We are excited to announce that BodyRite will be hosting a series of teen athletic camp programs this summer. Many young athletes are looking to improve their abilities in the off season and we believe BodyRite Teens Sport Camp will help enhance athletic skills and performance by using simple methods and sound science. The camp will run three separate sessions in two week sessions, starting July 11th from 11am to 2pm. The best part of the camp, is that no matter what ability level, the camper will progress. Whether an athlete or not, this camp is designed to help any teen interested in working out learn the basics of proper movement, strength training, and sound nutrition. We welcome all abilities ages 13 through 18. Coupling intelligent programming with sport specific nutrition, we will teach the athlete or interested fitness enthusiast how to move better for their sport, and how to fuel thier bodies properly for optimal performance.

We focus on families whose children are currently on treatment; parents who need a night out, with safe, reliable, free babysitting! BASE Camp Kids ages 5-15; patients, and their siblings are included, and welcome to attend! From 6-9:30 we offer up crafts, games, dress-up, snacks, dinner & movies for the children who are dropped off so their parents can have a date night! The BASE CAMP KIDS are entertained by volunteers who bring kid friendly food, popcorn & movie candy BASE CAMP has a digital library of movies; G, PG, PG 13… depending on the age group of the children we will watch movies on our 70 inch big screen TV in our Hudson's Furniture/Ikea-Orlando family room! Our volunteer teams also bring "Lots of energy", games, crafts, and a respite for parents who just need a little time away from their children! Advanced Comedy Camp 1 - Second City Training Center Chicago
The Second City Advanced Comedy Camp is a fully comprehensive program that dives deep into the skills required to present a Second City-style revue. Curriculum includes training in advanced scenework and long form improvisation as well as additional lessons in clowning, stand-up, and music improvisation. Students will also receive a special track jacket as a souvenir of their summer with Second City. Students will present their stand-up material on the second Friday of the program and a one-act sketch revue on the final day. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Students must submit the Advanced Comedy Camp application, a resume, headshot/photo, and a short essay to be considered for this program to Students will need to have completed at least two 14-week terms of improv training at Second City or at least two sessions in our summer camp program. Students will work in small groups to develop their technique - improving their breathing, range and confidence. Through solos, duets and large ensemble pieces, students will study a variety of styles and genres including jazz, pop, musical theater and classical singing while continuing to expand their music reading skills. Each student will be expected to come to camp with a prepared, memorized vocal solo of any genre. The camp will conclude with a final concert for family and friends.
