Through observation and inquiry, students explore the Nature around them. In this session we take the children through nature trails and begin our journey with a trees parts and the role each part plays in a trees life cycle. After observing patterns in nature, students create their own design project that will reinforce the lesson learned. What makes a bird a bird? To find out, students go on a picturesque bird walk and use binoculars to observe birds closely. They comb the environment to investigate artifacts like feathers, feet, and skulls to discover how different birds learn to adapt and thrive in their special niches. A hands-on art project helps to reinforce this avian adventure. Through simple scientific observation and physical exploration, students investigate the nature of seeds, their role in the cycle of life, and interesting ways that they adapt, survive, and thrive in their environment. Students dissect seeds and then create their own seed mosaic. They learn about the lifecycles of bees and the role they play in pollination. This camp introduces boys and girls to a variety of sports in age-appropriate segments of time. Each day may include basketball, kickball, soccer and more! This camp is a perfect way for students to learn new skills and have a positive athletic experience. Students must wear athletic shoes and bring a water bottle and snack. 6127287745 x2
Growing Scientists: Wheels & Wings - CuriOdyssey
How much water can fit on penny? Can you stir up floating bubbles and puffy foam? Join this camp to explore the physics of things that fall, float, and flutter and the chemistry of solutions that are slippery, sticky, and slimy. Design a cardboard box fort, tinker with a marble run, and experiment with incline planes. Future engineers will be constructing, propelling, and stirring all sorts of contraptions. This camp is perfect for the preschooler that enjoys building and tinkering. Growing Scientists must be at least 3 years old by June 1, 2016, potty trained and able to use the bathroom independently. Half Day Camp: 8:30am-12:00noon (Pre-camp from 8:30-9:00am) Fee: Member $279 650-340-7590

Elem Super Scratch Week 3 - Merrill Engineering Building
We cannot get enough of Scratch and neither can our campers! This week-long 9AM-3PM day camp for entering 5th, 6th, and 7th graders (note the year older shift from the other Scratch camps) is a follow-on to the Beginning and Advanced Scratch camps. This camp looks at even more advanced topics and dives into more complex projects, finishing with a chance for participants to polish their projects under the guidance of our experienced instructors. Attendees should be enthusiastic about Scratch, self-motivated, and able to handle the longer day. Students should have completed the beginning and advanced camp prior to taking the Super Scratch camp or had some equivalent training. This camp runs from 9AM-3PM. Lunch is provided. 801-585-1726
