This 3 week workshop puts an in depth focus on the skills needed to succeed in theatre and performance. Working with professional performers, directors, and teaching artists, students will receive instruction in Acting, Vocals, and Dance including: -script analysis -improvisation -monologue technique -physicality -breaking down lyrics -finding the story of the song -basics of a professional musical theatre audition -choosing songs that showcase YOU -finding a 16-bar cut -working with an accompanist -stretching and warm up -basics of musical theatre dance -moving like a dancer -dance auditions (how to make it out alive) The workshop culminates in a feedback audition to introduce you to local theatre professionals on Friday night as well as a student designed performance of skills on Saturday morning. Our experience with Camp Twin Creeks in Marlinton was awesome. When we got there to drop off the kids, we realized that the staff was so diverse in their nationalities that my kids would feel so welcome and fit right in. The staff seemed to be having as good of a time as the kids and my kids walked away with many new friendships. They are already talking about next summer and seeing their friends again. Trout start to bite as nighttime weather cools, salmon season opens in the rivers, and crabs are still legal to catch and are growing to size. Whether you’re an experienced angler or new to fishing, come join us for an exciting week of fishing at the very best spots in Western Washington! Learn the basics of rod/reel and fly fishing with our seasoned instructors and try your luck at various sites such as the Puyallup River watershed, North Cascades mountain lakes, and the Salish Sea. Join us as our Wildcat Soccer is changing to YDL versus CASA this year! Open to all 5th and 6th grade girls. We will form an all girls team if we have enough registered girls. If there are not enough girls to form a girls only team we will then have a coed team(s). Practices will be held on the Japonica athletic field beginning Feb 1st. Games will be played on Saturdays. This will be a 6 week session: Game dates are set for: 2/20, 2/27, 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, Mon 3/21 OR Tues 3/22. Player registration includes officials costs, new jersey, and a Page Mate photo. Player is responsible for black soccer shorts (per coach discretion), socks/shin guards, and soccer cleats. Intermediates Ages 10+ Grasshoppers players are technically sound and tactically engage. Players are beginning to determine their style of play and how it matches up with other styles. This class will incorporate both singles and doubles strategy and play. sportsmanship, mental toughness, and Fitness. Point play, and fun games are taught on a 78 court using a 25-27" racquet. Boys and Girls in grades K-6 will learn to play the fastest growing sport in the United States! Lacrosse is action packed and lots of fun. It has the elements of soccer, football, basketball and hockey. Experienced coaches provided by Jump Start Sports lead the training on all the fundamentals, including: passing & catching, fielding ground balls, cradling, spacing, positioning and defense. Players will be divided by gender and age to play fun game situational scrimmages. Plastic sticks and soft balls will be provided.
