Get Started on Summer Reading 5 - The Prairie School
Have fun reading a required summer reading book in a group setting. With the use of a variety of reading strategies, the course covers the reading of Number the Stars Students are asked to purchase the novel prior to the first class. All students should read the first two chapters of the book they are assigned before June 20th. Additional reading at home will be required. Completion of the course will allow students to easily and successfully complete the novel­-based project at home. -- Location: M-4 -- Instructors: Alicia Gasser, Prairie 5/6 English Teacher. Summer Camp @ Victory Park Group C (9-10) - City of Pasadena
Join one of Pasadenas most popular summer camps! Victory Parks Camp has earned its longstanding reputation as a high-quality, fun, affordable, enriching program. Each day begins with a morning pep rally that sets the stage for an action-packed day. Activities include outdoor play, dance, arts and crafts, including painting, sculpting, lanyard making and chalk drawings, fitness activities and enrichment. Enrichment classes include health, hygiene and first aid instruction, cooking classes, computer and robotics play and specialized sports instruction in tennis and golf. Campers spend at least two hours daily doing physical fitness in the form of choreographed dance, group games, fitness competitions, team sports and supervised free play. Campers are escorted across the park to Pasadena High School?s swimming pool for recreational swim two times per week. Camp counselors go into the water with the campers and well-trained, certified lifeguards are always present. Before entering the pool, campers receive a water safety lesson. Optional swimming lessons available for an additional $20/week. Most field trip fees are included in the weekly fee. Fun field trips are often the highlight of the week. Field trip fees are included in camps costs, but campers may need spending money for some trips....

Showtunes: Sing and Dance (August 15) - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
One of the most difficult aspects of musical theatre is being able to sing and dance at the same time. This camp will help to develop this ability. Working hard to prepare a selection of show tunes for a live performance will give the campers quality experience and better prepare them to participate in musicals at school and in the community. Campers will perform in large and small groups while also allowing each child to take the spotlight with a singing or dance solo within the group numbers. This is an opportunity for your child to build a talent that many young performers struggle with. INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL PAGE has been teaching theater for 8 years and has been choreographing in local community theaters for the past 10 years. He recently received a BA in Theater and Dance from Christopher Newport University. He currently works as a Music and Movement Teacher at VHBC Preschool as well as teaches classes at LTA, Mount Vernon REC Center, and Browne Academy. He teaches private acting, dancing, and guitar lessons from his home. Explore Art Spring - Villa Academy
Lets build artistic confidence! In this class students learn fundamental drawing and painting concepts as they build confidence in their skills and their ability to make their own artistic decisions.
