My son loved Camp Broad Rock. There was a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for my 12 year old son to choose from at this camp. This camp is for children from preschool through grade 12. Unlike other camps, Camp Broad Rock has an indoor aquatic center. My son was excited to know he could swim regardless of what the weather was like outdoors. As we experience true love–a love that is there in the hard times as well as the good, a love that is there when we’re doing well or when we are failing, a love that will walk with us through healing as well as celebrate our victories–that is when we find true freedom. This kind of love is only found in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This will be a weekend of finding this kind of love as our speaker, Kevin Butcher, guides us through this topic. The 10th Annual Global Youth Peace Summit will unite 70 youth (ages 14-17) from 25+ countries for a week-long experience dedicated to personal growth, healing, cultural exchange, leadership development and community building. The 10th Annual Texas Global Youth Peace Summit will take place August 15th-21st, 2016 at Camp Champions in Marble Falls, Texas. The Summit is a place for healing… Some of the youth who attend have experienced traumatic circumstances: extreme poverty, religious persecution, child labor, gang violence, abuse and neglect. Boy Scouts Troop 114 is raising funds for Summer Camp! Please stop by and grab a delicious dinner anytime between 5-8pm on Thursday, April 7th. You can come in and visit with the troop while you eat OR you can participate via the drive-thru! Just tell them you're with the fundraiser when you order, they'll put a copy of your receipt in a basket and a portion of your meal cost will be donated to our troop! That's it, SO easy! Please share this event out with everyone you know who lives in the area; everyone is welcome and invited to join! Thank you all for supporting our boys. It takes a lot to get these kids to Colorado and we truly could not do this without your help!!!

Musical Production: The Lion King - The Evergreen School
Two shows on Friday July 29th at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in The Evergreen Theater. Calling actors, singers, and dancers! The Evergreen School Summer Performing Arts Program is putting on a big show and we need your talent! In this two week production, students become members of a small cast, and each day is filled with fun activities that build skills for musical theater. This years show is The Lion King. Every student enrolled receives a copy of the music and the script in advance of rehearsals. Auditions take place on the first day of class. In this production, everyone will be strongly featured with solos for all. On the last day, July 29, in partnership with our Backstage Crew and Costume Crew classes, actors will present two big performances (3:00 pm and 7:00 pm) complete with sets, costumes and lights. Attendance is required for all days of these two weeks and at both shows. This successful summer program has a team of five experienced teaching artists all lead by Evergreens Vanessa Miller. CAMP Leadership Training Camp is back for its third season in Summer 2016! We are thrilled to be continuing this program as a two-week session jam-packed with outdoor adventures, group challenges, nature hikes and leadership discussions. This exciting camp is a combination of all the usual Hitchcock camp games and songs and leadership skills that will apply to being a Junior Counselor at Hitchcock and just in life! We hope to incorporate our favorite activities from last year, such as rock climbing, the ropes course challenge and our camping overnight, and go on new trips too. Well get a chance to both work with the younger campers to put what we learn into practice and to be campers ourselves playing in the woods and exploring nature. This camp is designed for all Hitchcock campers ages 11-13 (entering sixth through eighth grade) whether youre a first-time Leader in Training or returning from last year. 4132566006.0

Patty Soemer holds a Masters degree in education from Liberty University and has taught various subjects to a variety of ages for the past 21 years.
