We are so excited to be launching our brand new youth program with 2 exciting new offerings, Elemental Circus Camp and Sunday open level youth classes. Learn to kayak, explore the rich maritime heritage of Gig Harbor and discover the marine environment! Spend camp days kayaking inside the harbor: learn kayak safety, equipment, basic strokes and maneuvers. Campers will receive a Stand Up Paddleboard orientation on the last day of camp too! Youll create a bot patterned after Starwood Hotels robot butler, which can be programmed to deliver objects to guests. Youll make an animatronic creature which senses people and says hello to them. Youll also make a line-following bot and one which moves along like an inchworm. Plus, well spend a morning working in teams to build and program robots to complete missions similar to those in First LEGO® League (FLL) competitions! Create your own scrolling adventure game using Stencyl®, one of the newest and best ways to create games for a computer or mobile device. Instructor: Hawley Session 8: Crime Busters Camp. Camp Collegiate is a fast-paced, fun-based learning experience that is meant to make summer days fly by with fun activities. Boys and girls in third through eighth grade spend their days with friends and counselors doing all of the typical camp things: swimming, cooking out on a camp fire, canoe trips, arts and crafts, having treats, horseback riding, games … and a lot of not-so-traditional things: feeding and caring for snakes and hamsters; studying ecosystems and astronomy; competing in science challenges; building woodworking and electronics projects.
