Playmakers Acting Camp Grades 2-5 Lets put on a play! Working professional actors and directors lead this all-day camp that teaches campers the core skills of acting: voice and diction, theatre games, improvisation, rehearsing, and performing! Tons of movement, singing, play-based theatre games, rhythm, and rehearsal get campers up and at em, all while building confidence, and exploring creative ways to use their imaginations, voices, and motion. Campers take pride in writing their very own play, and presenting it at weeks end, giving everyone a chance to shine like a star! Campers bring their own lunch, snack and beverage. 1 week. 9 am-4 pm Instructors: Becky Fox and Carla Milarch Becky Fox is the Director of Education at Ann Arbors professional playwrights theatre, Theatre Nova. Amplify Sleep Away Camp Session 3 - Ojai Valley High School
Sign up for 1 week or all 4 WHAT IS Amplify Sleep Away Rock Camp? Amplify Sleep Away Rock Camp is an intensive one-week overnight program offered to girls ages 11-17 years old and is held at Ojai Valley Boarding School in Ojai, CA. Here girls of all skill levels have the opportunity to learn guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keys or other instruments. Girls will also form a band, write an original song, and perform at the Final Showcase for friends, families, and fans! In addition to all this, girls will have the opportunity to meet other girls and female musicians and mentors, as well as participate in enrichment activities such as workshops on media literacy or screen-printing, high ropes course, Dj-skills, Zine making and more. GRSB! welcomes campers that identify as female, trans, and gender-nonconforming. LESSONS Participants choose one instrument to focus on for the week–drums, bass, guitar, vocals, keyboards, or DJ. In this class you are introduced to all the fundamental skills of improvising, while improving your ability to listen and explore the power of building off of other peoples ideas. Level 1 is a survey of the entire program, exposing you to the elements of scene work and the various skills involved in creating well-acted, comedic improvisation. Passing Criteria: Students must demonstrate that their listening has improved over the course of the term and that they are willing to build off of their partners ideas, in addition to having gained some proficiency with the technical aspects of actually doing so on stage.
