With summer around the corner, many parents find themselves struggling to find fun, educational activities to schedule for their children. Working parents scramble to find childcare providers who offer a safe environment while still delivering their kids some real summer fun. Smoky Mountain Sk8way & FUN ZONE has once again partnered with area teachers and specialists to offer a fun, affordable, healthy and safe summer day camp experience for kids who've finished kindergarten through sixth grade. Skate, Learn, Play is the theme. This year the summer camp has gone the extra mile to become an officially licensed camp by the State of North Carolina which allows them to accept subsidized payments from Southwestern Child Development. The Sk8way has also added a 5,000 sq ft outdoor park for the kids to play in, new games and activities and even better, most will agree, they will have nutritious breakfast and lunches provided by the Haywood County School System. International Centers of Excellence - International Centers of Excellence
The University of West Florida soccer coaches own and manage The International Centers of Excellence soccer programs, which are geared both toward the serious and recreational player. We have two objectives for every participant; improve and have fun. The focus will be on developing the individuals ability and team concepts appropriate for each players individual needs. Each player will learn and refine techniques that will enable them to pursue their game at the next level. We employ a series of activities and situational play that foster learning and creative thinking on the soccer field. We also provide a healthy amount of small-sided competition daily. "Tons-O-Fun" Extended Care, Grades 1-10, Week 1 - Recreation
A great option for parents who work, TONS-O-FUN Camp offers a fun and safe Extended Day program from 7:30-8:30AM and 3:30-5:00PM for an additional fee. Extended Day includes supervised and partially structured activities, including arts and crafts, games and sports.One fee gives participants access to both morning and afternoon extended care. Parents can flex use of the program daily based on their needs. Come early, stay late or do both. It?s up to you! Participants must be registered in advance by the week to participate. Please note that there will be a minimum number of campers required for each session to run extended camp hours. It is highly recommended that parents pack an extra snack and drink for children who participate in the Extended Day program. All arrival and dismissal policies apply to the Extended Care program. Parents must sign in and sign out participants with photo ID and must be listed on the pick-up authorization section of the registration form. New-US Writing Workshop SII (11th-12th) - Francis W Parker
Parkers new summer Writing Workshops for students entering grades 10-12 offers students the opportunity to learn, explore, review and practice a variety of writing skills, including grammar, usage and sentence structures. These intensive, one-week workshops will help students fill gaps, develop comfort, and prepare for future classroom writing experiences. These workshops will be taught by members of the Francis Parker English Department Faculty. In the workshop for rising 11th and 12th graders, students will work in a variety of genres including persuasive, analytical, narrative and creative, with a special concentration on grammar/usage and the personal essay.
