The SAT Prep Class at Loyola Blakefield is an intensive four-evening class that covers the Math, English, and Writing sections of the SAT. The class runs the Monday though Thursday before each SAT test and covers two days of math and two days of English/Writing. Topics include coverage of basic SAT curriculum, test taking strategies, and the completion of SAT test questions. The class runs evenings from 7 – 9:30 pm. Cost is $175. Class size is limited to twenty- five students per session. The math portion of the SAT Prep Class is taught by Mr. Jose Albornoz. Mr. Albornoz has been a mathematics teacher at Loyola Blakefield for the past thirty years. He has taught all levels of mathematics from 7th grade pre-algebra through Advanced Placement Calculus. 2015 -2016 will be his 31st year at Blakefield and his 7th teaching the SAT Prep Class. The English portion of the SAT Prep Class is taught by Ms. Kelly Christ. With a BS in English and Secondary Education from Towson University and an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College, Ms. Christ is entering her 16th year of teaching. My kids were able to experience a lot of different things at Camp Tecumseh this summer. They have the usual camp activities, but they also have rock wall climbing, archery, riffly, tube slides, a nature center, candle making, disc golf, fishing and a mini farm. Get ready for Trinity Youth's 18th annual Middle School Winter Camp! This weekend will be filled with good food, great friends, and whole lot of fun. Our goals for this camp are: 1. To build strong student-leader relationships 2.To build strong peer relationships 3.To meet students right where they are—helping them take that next step in knowing Jesus better. Oh, and there is also possibility of having a lot of fun, too! Students and leaders will be leaving from Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12th (dinner not provided). From the church, we will drive 45 minutes south to Meadowood Springs. Everyone will be staying the next two nights at the retreat center there. We will be back at Trinity by 12:00 p.m. on Sunday the 14th. The cost of camp is $105. This cost covers travel, lodging, food and fun. To secure your free Winter Camp 2016 t-shirt, get your registration and $25 non-refundable deposit by Sunday, January 17th! After this date, all registrations will be charged an additional $15 late fee. All registrations and full payments are due by Sunday, February 7th. There are many things we have to survive in this world. Failures, conflicts, temptations, the list goes on. Though surviving the pressures and conflicts in our lives can be a tough and painful process, we can take comfort in the fact that like a piece of coal, we are being turned into precious diamonds for God's purpose. And in a culture that increasingly pushes Christians to the outskirts, it can be like being stranded on an island. But since the begining us Christians have been called to be set apart, "in the world but not of the world", and we know that through the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, that we can more than just meely survive, but we can strive! Join us this year in taking a stand on the principles and truths that the Word of God gives us, stepping up to live out our calling and purpose and learning how to transition from being Survivors to becomeing more than conquerors!! Hope to see you there!!

YOUTH RUNNER ELITE MIDDLE SCHOOL DISTANCE CAMP 2016 - LEWIS AND CLARK COLLEGE
YOUTH RUNNER ELITE MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP If youre looking for a great experience that will give you a boost going into your Cross Country season this fall then the Youth Runner Elite Camp may be for you. Youre going to have fun, make new friendships, and maybe even meet your competitors. Youll also get some one on one advice from experienced coaches and athletes. Every day a Guest Olympian or an Elite Athlete will stop by to tell you their story and answer your questions. Youll leave with a plan and access to your camp coach through emails and phone calls until the end of cross country season. You can even bring your coach back home into the conversation. Whats Different? We love the camps with 200 runners sleeping in tents and getting crazy. Thats not this camp though. Youll be at Lewis and Clark College voted 2 nd nicest campus in the U.S. It has miles of running trails connected to the campus, a swimming pool, game room, and everything we need for camp. The Camp Shalom LIT Program (formerly counselor in training) has been redesigned to allow teens a multifaceted experience. The program contains three core components: leadership training, hands-on counselor skills guidance, and fun, social programming. Each two-week session will provide teens the opportunity to experience every facet of working at a summer camp from interacting directly with campers to shadowing activity specialists. Under the supervision of the LIT Assistant Director, LITs will meet as a group regularly to attend workshops specially planned for them. Each LIT will have the opportunity to become CPR and First Aid Certified. Upon successful completion of the LIT Program, participants will receive a minimum of 45 community service hours and are eligible for a higher rate of pay as Assistant Counselors at Camp Shalom. 512-735-8100

Students will learn about one of the most innovative technologies of our time - 3D Printing - and how to use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to create and print (and take home) a series of awesome designs! But why not use these skills for social good? Every lesson, students will exchange video messages with their sponsored partner student who lives in a developing country - together, they will come to identify and learn about a global issue, and then collaboratively design, print and test an invention to help solve that issue! Students will come to master the Engineering Design Process and basic electrical engineering while also learning about their partner student and their partner students country. (516) 750-3104
