LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Saturday Discovery with Nelli Shevelkina (Ages 6-11) - Young People
Skills in the visual arts are built in the same way as learning to play a musical instrument or sport: by practicing and training, and by challenging you with new techniques and ideas. In Drawing and Discovery, young artists ages 6-11 will explore fundamental concepts of line, texture, shading, and color through the fun, creative, and age-appropriate projects. Students will try their hand at figure drawing, portraits, volume and perspective, and experiment with professional art materials. Students will work independently or as a group according to their age, level of experience, personal interest and individual artistic style. Note: This class will be offered continuously during the year, allowing students to progressively develop skills in visual literacy, perception and creativity progressively. Afternoon Art Club Add-On - Lower School
Do you have a child who is passionate about drawing, painting, crafts and creating? If so, these afternoon session will not disappoint! Each day, campers will learn about an artist and complete an art project. Children will be introduced to basic art vocabulary, exposed to a wide variety of mediums and encouraged to acquire new skills through their art projects. Nature Camp 2 - Twin Lakes Church
Explore and learn about Santa Cruz county in a way you never have before! Experience Gods wonderful creation right out our front door through various hikes, visits to State Parks, swimming, and so much more! Join us this year for the return of our nature camp campout and sleepover on the Twin Lakes campus complete with campfire, smores, movies, and an indoor sleepover! This is a fun, active, and educational camp! Some of the days can be moderately strenuous hikes and not suitable for very young children. For this reason, campers must be entering 2nd grade to attend. Please keep in mind the physical exertion of this camp when considering it for your child. Level 5 - Dave Hill - DCT - iO West
Class Shows will be Friday 4/1 and 4/8 at 7PM in The Loft Armed with the ability to execute all of the elements of a Harold, you will now learn how to improvise the structure of your shows, leading to wildly inventive pieces that challenge you to express yourself to the fullest extent of your creativity, and help that creativity evolve. This level includes four performances on one of the iO stages. Passing Criteria: Students must demonstrate an ability to navigate all of the elements of a Harold when those elements are not in a training wheels structure. Students must have demonstrated an ability to make choices within a show to drive it structurally using the various elements at their disposal from Level 5.
