Visual Arts: From the homeland to the battlefront, art was used during WWII to promote duty and patriotism, capture historical moments and even as tactical strategy. Your West Circle Drive Hy-Vee is offering a series of cooking classes designed to teach teens (age 12-17) essential cooking skills! Teens will be able to eat their creations at the end of the class. Classes will be held every Thursday 11:00 – 12:30pm for five weeks starting July 14th. July 14th: Knife skills and cooking basics: chef salads Classes will be taught in our DISH classroom by the in-store dietitian and one of our talented chefs. There is no better place to start learning the basics of sailing. Come have fun on the water while learning the language of sailing, rigging, sail handling and steering in a stable boat designed for kids. Students will be encouraged to sail solo when ready and increase their on-the-water confidence. Students will learn about project design, object-oriented programming, console applications, graphics applications and many elements of the Java language. Along the way students will build on what they learn each day. This includes learning how to program frames, colors and programming moving objects. The week begins with simple programming until it builds by the end where students will be able to create the game of pong in Java.
